Due to some unforseen issues with my current vehicle I am now looking towards another Focus to use as my daily driver, weekend autocrosser, and future SpecFocus.
One cannot deny that a new ZX3 S is one hell of a deal AND I can get it optioned how I want to make it my ideal "race car" for the future (i.e. crank windows, no ABS/TC, etc). I think this car would be fantastic in auto-x, however I'm a bit concerned on how it would fair in Spec Focus.
Per the rules, the 2.0l Duratec is locked into the same rules as its bigger brother...with one exception: an FRPP cylinder head. From what I understand the Ford Racing head isn't out yet and won't be out for quite some time. I'm thinking the lack of a massaged cylinder head will make the 2.0l Duratec the worst of the group for power when compared to a stock SVT Zetec, stock 2.3l Duratec, and the regular Zetec with heads/cams.
If the FRPP head isn't out yet...how did you come to a decision on the rules for the 2.0l Duratec? If FRPP doesn't put this head into production, have you formulated any alternate plans for this motor?
