Im doing everything the rules will allow while leos cars still have completely stock motors and some lesser things not done. They are prettier though . I may have a guy interested in painting it for free so who knows

also I think all of leos cars have the 2.3 so there is less he can do to begin with.

I feel your pain, My Spec build has been delayed by about 3 months due to the SVT brake kit availability. Of course when I had a lot of time (winter) i had no material. Now that I have the materials I have no time.

All four brakes are on now.
I need to find and put on the front right cv joint.
I need to get a set of ss brake lines, brake fluid and bleed the brakes. The kit came with new E brake cables that I haven't put on yet.

I finally got the rods elsewhere and dropped them off at Hawaii Racing today so Ill have the engine soon

Mark,

You can use Lexan. See Rule # 22.18

22.18 To keep costs down and increase durability, stock glass windshields may be replaced with Lexan windshields provided provisions in the NASA CCR and the proper power to weight ratio are met. The intent of this rule is to improve safety and durability, not to reduce weight. Therefore, Lexan windshields must be at minimum ¼” in thickness.

Quick question:
Is you dashboard good to go as far as it's current configuration? I think it would be, but I would hate for you to show up and they flag you in tech.

"23.2 Gauges may be added, replaced, or removed. They may be installed in the original instrument(s) location using a
mounting plate(s) or any other location using a secure method of attachment. Other than modifications made to mount instruments
and provide for roll cage installation, the remainder of the dash “board” and instrument panel must remain intact."

That is not what the rules states? I pointed out the same thing in this thread on 6-14-07 almost a month ago?

Okay, Then we'll have to change that rule. It’s similar to what I had last year.

Per another one of your post

Is this the procudure that a racer would use to get the change or any other?

27 Non-conforming Equipment/Equipment Certification
Series Officials must approve any equipment that does not conform to the Series Rules in advance. For consideration, approval must be made in writing sixty days prior to the date of competition. After receiving the petition, the Series Officials will make a formal announcement of the petition and must rule on the petition within 30 days. The remaining 30 days after ruling will allow other competitors to evaluate newly approved.

Correct. He's not ready to race yet, and I'm sure the rule will be changed or clarified before he petitions for a rule change or races anyway.

Ted, It is just that there is very little production intent left there for a Focus instrument panel. All that is left is the upper 1/3 of outer sub straight. Not even close to the rule

Okay, I talked to Chief Divisional Director- John Lindsey and the main thing we need to do is clarified what is consider the dash. We will rewrite the rules more clearly for 2008 but will be issuing a Technical Bulletin for 2007 to clarify the current rule.

Here’s a photo of the two types of dashes we have and the section highlighted in green maybe be removed.
