Ted7rns, if you are referring to me as the upset party, I purchased my from Tousley Ford. I believe they are a FRPP dealer. Otherwise, disregard this post. Nate

I don't know if that is true or not. We are talking Extremes here because of the racing use.

Nate, you need to relax. You have absolutely no idea what data Ford had. There is typically 1-2% manufacture error (with good manufacturers) in all distributed goods, no matter who they are. Do you know how many multimatic kits were sold? Do you know how many shocks developed leaks? This is not an OEM part, so don't expect a huge recall. If your shocks develop a leak, I have no doubt an FRPP dealer will find a replacement for you if you meet the warranty requirements. This is an excellent kit, extremely affordable, and has been beaten to death in a racing environment by the Spec guys with very few issues. And it looks pretty good if I may say so myself.

I agree with you on all counts except the relax part. I have yet to get irrate or anything even close to it. I fully understand the race vs street application involved in this product and accepted that when I purchased it. Having said that, one would think a race product would be considerably more free of defects than a street product. I would bet Ford has not sold very many of these kits so the percentage that leak is probably pretty high. I look forward to some hard numbers from Ford but I doubt we will every be privy to that data. Nate

No, we're not. My car is 100% daily driver. Am I out in the cold because I didn't buy direct from an FRPP source? |

Listen, this is the Spec Focus Forum. It’s for information about the Series. If you have a beef with FRPP for an item that is being used for something other then Spec Focus Race Car, Please take it up with them.
There no need to whine on this section about a part that's not on a Spec Focus. Whining about SF parts is okay. somewhat.

Then I guess this thread should be linked to the Suspension Area so those FJer's that don't frequent the SF section can be informed and do with it as they please.
brads03zx3, First, I will remove my bantering from CFM's thread. I should not have butted in on CFM's attempt to rid themselves of a possibly defective suspension system. Second, I don't really give a damn if Ford created the kit. It doesn't absolve them from any liability if someone gets hurt. The kit has SHM springs and to the best of my knowledge, Multimatic shocks/struts. Since Ford works very closely with Multimatic on just about everything they make, I'm sure Ford had a hand in this at some point. We can argue about this all day but I have said my piece and will move on from here. Ted7rns, sorry about hosing up your thread. Good luck finding a replacement setup. Nate

Ted, I purchased the Eibach pro system plus kit for my Spec build. Are you aware that the individual kit part #'s have been updated? The parts no longer carry the exact part #'s (dampners) that are listed in the rules. Will this be an issue?

I'm all for the Koni Yellow's being legal, since I already have them on the car. I don't have the Eibach Race Springs but it seems to make a nice, not too expensive combo.

Cool. I know TrueChoice [they have a kiosk at Mid Ohio] offers a suspension for under $3000.00. Lol.

Quick question for Ted or Leo if I may-
Is the dynamic suspension still going to be spec Focus legal(and still competitive!) in the future -as far as you know? I bought the Dynamic suspension(destined for my DD),and still have it sitting new in the box. But I may-just may -be able to budget a spec Focus build pretty soon. If I can-I'll buy another Focus(zetec) for that build and build my current DD(Duratec) with a more autocross friendly suspension,(I've been leaning more torwards a 2" drop on the DD anyway). So in a nutshell-should I sell the dynamic kit now, or retain it for a possible spec build? Thanks for any facts and/or opinions here!

Yes, No matter what change we make if it's the FRPP replacement kit for the Multimatic or a different kit.... The Dynamics will be allowed.
