race count - Focaljet

ted (or anyone else that can answer)

if i race this weekend and august 18-19 at mid-ohio, how many races will that give me towards nationals? is it only 2 per weekend? i need 5 for nationals right?

one race per day, two days, two races.

Unless they'll letcha run a PT race in a differnt race group and have that count?

You can also run 2 Time Trial events as well. You can use 2 TT events towards nationals.

Qualifications for Nationals

1) The driver must earn points in at least five official races (not weekends).

2) Mixing of any national classes is allowed.

3) Once minimum qualifications are earned, drivers may compete in multiple classes at the National Championships.

4) At least four entries must be received by September 1st, 2007 for a class to be eligible.

Entries that don't meet the above requirements will be returned promptly with a full refund.

You may count 2 Time Trial Events maximum toward racing at Nats.
Racers may not run TT if they haven't run TT during 2007.

The goal is to allow for ease of qualification while closing a dew loopholes. Example: We had one driver who ran his first race at Nationals. He met the 5 race rule in TT, applied for his Comp License and raced at Nats. NASA has closed this loop hole by allowing only 2 TT events to count.

As the matter of fact that driver did drive a Spec Focus in TT but also drove a SM in Performance Touring for his first race ever. It's important that NASA has racers that have at least raced in the Calendar Year of Nationals so they fixed this loophole.
