Default Spec Focus rules questions

A couple of questions regarding rules.

1) Can you put an SVT engine in a non-SVT car? According to the rules, it looks like you can. I would assume that, if you can, you would then need to follow the SVT rules.

2) Body kits. The rules state that you may update to an SVT or RS "Type" body kit. Does this mean that you need to use actual Ford or F2 body kits, or can you use an off brand SVT or RS body kit (SVT or RS replica kit)? Can you use an ST body kit?

Rule 22.5
"Only OEM rear wings or spoilers are allowed in dealer configurations. No aftermarket wings or spoilers are allowed except as noted below. SVT or RS Type Body kits are allowed."

Thanks in advance for your help.

Mark

I am unsure of the F2 body parts. You can use an SVT engine it just has to be to spec.

You can use any OE body parts as far as I know. Except for fenders I think. I think RS fenders are not allowed

If you use the SVT engine, you will have to use the Getrag Tranny (and other rules as you have stated). There is no difference between an SVT and a non-SVT shell.

I believe the intent of the Body kit rule is to maintain a factory look, so as long as it still looks like a factory ford focus, I would think you'd be good to go. What specific kit are you talking about? Good luck.

F2 body kits are allowed....that is why the rules say RS type. All of our cars have the RS body kits on it and wings as well.

The ST body fit will cost you a fortune unless you buy it off someone.

If I were you Mark...I would not do the SVT engine swap, you are better off doing a duratec swap....

F2Focus-

Who's RS kit did you use on your cars (just kidding). Do you have them in stock or do they have to be ordered? If they need ordered, how long do they take? How much $$$ for the kit (to a local SPEC Focus driver that will tell everyone where they got the kit)? Perhaps I should just give you a call.

The only reason I would consider using an SVT engine is that I have one, along with the transmission. We are considering building another SPEC Focus car (sedan?).

Thanks
Mark
