Default 2009 NASA Nationals Championship

Will be moved to Miller Motorsports Park in Utah.

RICHMOND, CA (Sep 13, 2008) — The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) announced last night that it will be adding a new location for its National Championship event beginning in 2009. In order to continue to hold the Championship event at a high caliber facility and serve a larger geographic area for its members, NASA is pleased to add Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah as the site for the 2009 and 2010 National Championship events. The addition of the Miller facility to the roster is a key part of a plan which will rotate the event every few years to make it more accessible to a larger group of racers and help continue to attract a greater number of participants. The 2009 event will be NASA's fourth National Championship event and the hope will be to continue the steady growth along with tremendous sponsor support which offered more than $1,000,000.00 in contingency offerings. The Mid Ohio Sports Car Course will remain the East Coast site for the event and NASA will return there for 2011 and 2012 events. National Chairman Ryan Flaherty stated, "This new plan should be a perfect opportunity for our racers across the country to experience Championship level events at two truly world class race tracks."

We need to make sure all the SoCal teams get there. Maybe we all can find a Sponsor to help our cost.

They announced this yesterday here at the AZ NASA event. I think all of the Dezert racers will be going to this. We will be trying to get jpadilla's car ready for this one. And he is going to work really hard to get all of his qualifications done too.
It is pretty cool that they will be switching it up every 2 years.

That's good to know. I think most of the drivers from NorCal, SoCal, and AZ will be going as well. Plus all the Time Trial Drivers. We have alot of TT drivers here in SoCal that would go.

Speaking TT, this is a good chance for some Regular Focus Challenge drivers to win a National Championship in Time Trial.

I didn't think the focus was competitive in any of the TT classes.

I am pretty convinced that a properly setup 03-04 2.3 car could do some serious damage in TT/PTE

My goal is to prove this incorrect. I feel I can build a competitive car, I just need to get done with this damn schooling and find me a money tree I'm actually pretty close. I just need to work on that nut behind the wheel

I won't have the funds to build a proper E car, but I may be able to build a fast F car. Maybe E by 2010. These are all far reach goals. We'll see how the cookie crumbles. I don't even have a TT license yet

I just told my wife that I'll be racing Spec Focus at the 2010 Nationals at Miller.

I should have a promotion and own my own trailer by then.

Me either. My pie in the sky PTE idea includes V3s with custom rates, a 2.3 swap etc etc etc. not happening any time soon.
However
I should have my comp license come spring then I intend to take at least 1 green flag next year in W2W competition, the rest of my track time will be TT.

Actually, NASA said they will alternate every two years. 2009 and 2010 will be at Miller. 2011 and 2012 will be at Ohio. Check post #1 for info from NASA.

Unhappy Re: 2009 NASA Nationals Championship

Just received the Mustang Challenge schedule a couple days ago and we will run the Mustangs there the week after Nationals. It is going to be a logistical night mirror to have 3-4 Spec focus cars and a AI car for the nationals, then have 3 Mustang Challenge cars with the support equipment there on following Wednesday for the Challenge race.

Sounds like you're going to need a bigger trailer.
