I can't make it. My first outing of the season will be Putnam Park May 17-18.

This impossibility of reaching perfection gives one much scope for improvement. I always feel that motor racing is like chasing the rainbow's end, for the more one learns or the nearer one gets to the end, the further it draws away. It is this never disappearing goal which one strives for that makes it the most fascinating of all sports. - Stirling Moss On why motor racing is an art. |

We will not be arriving until Friday afternoon some time we are at Road Atlanta on Thursday. Chris will be driving the 1 trailer from Atlanta to Mid-Ohio. I will pick up the other trailer from our shop in Michigan and take it down with the Spec Focus that we will share for Saturday and Sunday. We will be in Garage 25 for this race. Stop by we will have one of the new FR500S Miller Mustang challenge series cars for people to check out.

Jesse, If you do not get your car done you could always use your street Focus and do your HPDE and work on your license?

I'll be there in my PTE Neon. We're working right down to the wire on this - the new cage finished today and we were painting doors in the evening. It only takes a few dozen man-hours of personal racecar labor to appreciate the outstanding job LCR does to get their cars out to every event in like-new condition.
I believe they're racing PTE and SF together this weekend. We don't yet know how fast the car will be - it might be as quick as a well-sorted SN, might be quicker, might be a lot slower. The motor's a question mark. If we aren't making power, I'll be happy to move over for you guys. If we are... well, I painted four extra fenders in advance ![]() This photo is from Saturday, and shows why we'll be up every night this week: ![]()

I'm at 50/50 right now. Unfortunately I broke the car on saturday (electronics?) Something to do with the mazda 3 head and cams we put on - didn't like the the ECU or something (j/k ;-)
If I can get the car running today or tomorrow, I *think* I can get spousal approval. Don't forget to buy your toyos in the next couple of days to get the rebate.

Leo, do you know if any of the safety equipment/accessory dealers will be there? I want to snag another seat and it would be awfully nice to pay cash and not worry about shipping. I know there are sometimes vendors there, but sometimes not.

I'm out unfortunately. Starting a new job on the 14th - so wouldn't be able to make the tow back in time. Bummer.
Car is now functional - stupid reference sensors. Jimmy - appreciate the exceptionally kind offer. You should come out to Hyperfest at Summit Point in May. Best event in the Mid-Atlantic region all year.

Chris K was there today, looking good in the rain. I hand-timed him and he was right there with the sub-million-dollar Spec Miatas.

I wandered around for a little while this morning. It was kind of chilly at times and a bit drizzly as well. The Cup car looked like it was running pretty well, although it didn't seem to have the power to compete with a lot of the AI Mustangs. You need to get a less restrictive exhaust on it, so you can hear it over the other cars.
Were you guys helping with the GoCar(??) Mustang as well?In an unrelated note, I watched with half-covered eyes as a guy from PA helped pull out a stuck spectator by his radiator core support. They got it out without removing any critical components, luckily, but I wasn't too sure for a while.

That left front fender on the #68 is a lousy match. Call up the body shop and tell 'em you want your money back. And by "your money", I mean, "my money", since I think I was the last fellow to buy an LF fender for that car.
