Default weight of wheels?

In the market for a set of spec wheels, anyone know the actual weights of the legal wheels? The multi spokes seem to be the most popular, are they the lightest?

Here's the weight list for the wheels. I think the Multi-Spokes wheels are popular because of the looks.

25lbs

25lbs

25lbs

24lbs (these are the lightest wheels)

Has anyone found out if one wheel is stronger/better than the other. They all weigh about the same. Is the 5 spoke just as strong.....right now they are less expensive! $110 at the dealer

I have 3 sets of the stock 5 spokes. i've never had an issue and i've done my share of off-roading. maybe lowell can chime in with his experience with the ford racing wheels. he has WAY more off-road experience than me.

What is this, the damn winter weather getting to you guys up there is Mickygand?

There was at least one of the wheels from #67 that survived.

Kisner, just because you won the Great Lakes Region Season Championship doesn't give you the right to point out my driving indiscretions. Or, maybe it does?
Anyway. Hope your stuck in a snow drift right now.

Just an FYI, there's another pretty current thread in the Tire/Wheel/Brake forum that has pretty different info from this one on the stock 17" wheel weights.

http://forums.focaljet.com/tire-rack...ight-eaps.html

From that thread, Steve from Tousley Ford weighed all of these wheels on his shipping scale:

EAP multispoke wheels: 21 lbs.
5-Spoke SVT wheels: 21.4 lbs.
6-spoke SVT wheels: 20.6 lbs.

I think our weights are with the Toyo tires.

I'm guessing the tires weigh more than 3 or 4 pounds

I got about 21 or 22 when I weighed the ones on my SVT's, and then with Khumo's about 44-45lbs. per corner total. R compounds are HEAVY with all that stiff sidewall for street use.

I have two sets of Team Dynamics that are 16 lbs. for the Sonic Blue DD.

ANyone want the grey color ones? $150 new, sell for $100each like new. No further discounts. Firm price.

Are you selling Team Dynamics for $100 each or the stockers?

25lbs
I'm not here to argue with anyone, just saying that The Tire Rack has this exact wheel listed as weighing 21.3 lbs... so it'd be nice if someone would weigh this wheel on a calibrated scale for our edification.

I've weighed this wheel and a 215/45-17 Hankook R-S2 together as an assembly at 41 lbs. Did not have a chance to weight the tire or wheel separately first.

Have Roger at the TireRack weigh it. I have made this request before on a different wheel. 21.3lbs sounds close if not exact to me though.

I am pretty darn sure the weights Leo listed are Ford's shipped weights. Shipped weights tend to be inflated.

For our use it really doesn't matter except the M-1007-S177A is the lightest

What does it really matter? They are what they are. Then depending on what you do for balancing, they'll weigh more.

Sure there are some differences in the different models... but that bears no difference on how strong they are.

Naturally, it doesn't matter in Spec Focus.

But when someone asks how much something weighs, it's nice to have an answer if only to satisfy an aspect of the bench racing discussion.
