Why don't you rent a first class ride next year and check the cars out?

Leo Capaldi Racing rents Spec Focus cars, and they are the leading builder and professional team in SF. Their cars have won the two Spec Focus NASA National Championships.

The spec miata article in GRMS make it clear that the pro teams are on top of the rules, preparation, planning etc. That is what makes a car/driver capable of being fast.

Yep, doing a rent-a-racer is part of my plan!

In fact, I may just rent rides in 2009 and not purchase anything,,just run enduros all year as a co-driver

joining NASA was how I got the subscription! I have yet to go to a NASA event, since the locations for events in the NE are not that great.

I already got one back issue; it's definitely reasonably priced if an article interests you.

Doesn't NE go to Watkins Glen semi-regularly? If my memory of geography serves me - that's about 4-5 hours from Boston? Not too bad a drive and a fantastic track.

It's about 6, going at normalish speeds. If/when I go to Watkins Glen, I'm not sure I would try to get up early in the morning and drive over, especially if events start at 9 or so. That doesn't seem safe. So then I'd have to factor in a hotel stay as well.
