Does any one know the size of the head gasket to change my compresion ration from 10.2.1 to 10.5.1 on my svt focus

ummmmmmm. you could probably use the stock zetec gasket and get close.

Cometic (cometicgasket.com ?) will have or can make you whatever thickness you want. As to the math...

Make sure you leave some room for error. Barometeric Pressure and Density altitude can change the reading compression tester gauge.

I don't recommend using anything other than an OEM/MLS gasket anyway. Cometic makes great products, no doubt, but theres been a few stories of problems with anything other than an MLS gasket on the zetec design (meaning both a standard zetec and SVT) that I'd stick with the MLS.

Volumetric measurements don't lie. The compression ratio is a measurement of how much space is above the piston at BDC vs how much is there at TDC. A compression tester only measures the PSI that is generated in the cylinder at its peak.

Good point. Just be careful. The compression change is more about being able to resurfacing for trueness, not to maximize the engine compression for power. There's no tolerance for going over the maximum.
