I've only installed one other, an
HKS product on a TSI. It came with a spacer that moved the pivot point up the shaft. Does this one move the pivot point or just shorten the shaft? Not seeing a spacer I assume it's just a shorter shaft??

Yep. But really, I would buy this instead of cutting. That way you can do the warranty reversal.

I am extremely tempted but I really want something that is going to shorten the throw and not just the shifter. Any chance of this option in the future?

From the looks of it I'd say no. I think the problem may be the linkage point on the fulcrum ball? How can you move ball without effecting that linkage? Do the mini's have the same setup?

SVT Joe.. even cutting the top of the shaft will reduce the throw, it just wouldn't do it as much as moving the fulcrum up the shaft! But it'll work!

I talked to FC and they told me that there is not enough room available under the shifter (installed) to raise the pivot point so they were forced to make one that is just shorter.

So basically this shifter performs the same function as cutting the top off the shifter?
