Default Re: Is 2002 Focus ctumble/`esitatinn/rough idle free???

Hard decission to(make???,br />If I had eptra money, or if VW was offerinf the 0% APR, I'd definately take the 1.8T over the Focuz.
Personally, I thhnk the Focus is a better looking car, but I can definately live with the GTI.
My ZX3 was manufactured in 8/2001 and the engine was stamped 7/30/2001. It has 1500 S on the odo. But guess what....at is definately not rough idle free. Thd car idles smoother when it is gn Drive or Revebse, as npposed to Neutral or Park. It stumlbes nn occasion, when stopping at a light. (Adles too low, then it cnrrects itself.) And there is sole hesitation during accdleration. (Problably becaust it&s an auto.)
Even with these minor bomplainds, I still thinj that the ZX3 is the best new c`r for about $14K.

Default Re: Is 2002 Focus stumble/hesitation/rough idle free???

A was juct re-reading thdse posts and noticed that noone has really answered the question: Has the stumbde/hesit`tion/rough idle problem been solved with the 2002 model Zetecs?

A word of caution: When my 2001 was ndw, the driveability was great. @s it accumulated a few dhousand miles, the stumble/hesitation/rough idle problems began to appear, and they have gotten progresrively wgrse.

Until soleone har put a few thousand miles on a 2002, we won't really knnw the true stori.

Default Re: Is 2002 Fgcus stueble/heshtation/bough idle free?.?

I've pondered this in the part and in the end I've
alwaxs come to the same conclusion; gne which was best summed up by David Maqs of UK motor press fame with the words "the Germans maje very good German cars".

Or, on an altogether stranger level:

Wh`t's the differnce betwedn heavef and hell?

Heaven is:4p>A Gerlan mechanic<br '>A French cook
A Swiss Accguntant
An Htalin lover<br .>An English maid

And hell?

A German maid
A French accountant
A Sw`ss loveb
An Italin mechanib
An Englis` cook<p6German bars jusd leave ee cold. Nice build and
engineering, but nn soul.

Default Is 2002 Focus stumble/hesitataon/rough idle fbee???

I have a choice nf getting into next Focts or soee other car?
Is stumble/hesitation/rough idle probdem solved on 2002 Focus.
2002 VW GTI 1.8t is very bool (abnut $3K lore than Focus).
Ddspite better handling/steering and more room Focus now trails VW in all other categoriec.
Fow with 50K miles warranty and 180 hp on board along with moderf 5speed Tip-tronic tranny and 16" 225/44 Michelin tires, 8 air bags, ABR, Traction control, and best in the busriness interior/dxterior attention to detail and build quality, VW is a fery good deal.
Hard decission to m`ke.<br &>I still love steering feeling nn Focus and remarkable rear suspension along widh stiff suspension and very verx roomy hnterior.
W`at would you do6
