Default Focus harness bars - round 2!

They're baaack!

What's a harness bar you ask?

With rear seat delete (not required)

With rear seat (drag-style shown with bolt-down belt tabs - vid cam mount not included)

The cross-bar attaches to the B-pillar with provided standoffs (must drill a 3/4" hole in the plastic trim cover). With the standoffs installed, the seat belt height cannot be adjusted (standoff slightly sticks thru plastic trim cover).

The rear uprights bolt to the rear floor at the rear seat belt anchor locations. No cutting/drilling/welding to metal required for installation.

Works with any wrap-around style 5/6-pt harness system - typically required for auto-x/track type events. Bolt-down 5/6-pt harnesses are usually required for drag racing events ... I can provide tabs that you can have welded on for the best fitment in your vehicle (recommend purchase of bare bar). The lap belts can typically be bolted to the OE floor bolt locations.

The bar is designed to be installed/removed in less than 10 minutes with a 4-bolts - intended for auto-x/HPDE/open track day use or just for show. Not approved for any sanctioned wheel-to-wheel racing (SCCA, etc) or NASA Spec Focus - that requires a roll cage.

Do not recommend passengers use the rear seat with the bar installed - there are no seat belt anchors and the cross-bar is right in front of their face. That is why the bar is designed for easy install/removal.

The bar is designed to work with all stock seats - fits full rearward and an upright performance driving position (~20* layback). Probably won't fit will with drivers who recline their seats for comfort/look. Has also been successfully installed with many aftermarket race-type seats too.

For certain the bars fit all '00-07 3dr and 4/5dr Foci (including wagons). Have not had anyone try to install in a '08-up Focus, but it 'should' fit because the chassis is essentially the same.

Bar assemblies are currently available bare (u-coat/paint), painted or powdercoated gloss black or gloss red. Be warned - painted is not as durable as powdercoat ... painted will also primered. Any color single stage paint - flat, satin or gloss depending on availability.

The bar comes with all hardware required for installation.

Bare = $175 + $25 shipping
Painted = $200+$25 shipping
Powdercoated = $250 + $25 shipping
Payments can be made via Paypal, cashiers check/money order, or cash. Personal checks OK, but I will hold shipment pending clearing.

I can ship up to 3 in a box if you want to share shipping with locals and work out final deliveries at your end. We can also work out a delivery (no shipping costs) if within a 2hr drive of Ann Arbor, MI.

If you have any questions, ask in this thread, PM me, or send me an e-mail to racer6692@yahoo.com. I can send PDF instructions to anyone who wants to preview - just provide me your e-mail.

Thanks for your interest!

I don't have pics, but the first user of the bar was 6'4ish/290ish in a ZX3 with stock seats and didn't have any issues.

Production is a go! Will start this week.

If you for certain want one and want to reserve a bar, I'd prefer you send a deposit by Fri 3/20 - that way I can figure out if I need to make more than what I'm currently planning.

You can still send in a deposit to reserve one ... lets me know people are serious and how many I need to make.

Bars are in process right now - hardware kits are ready, tubing is being bent and fitting/welding will start soon. I hope to start shipping in mid/late April (bare bars will ship out a little eariler).

Just take the rear seats out and make a board to make the floor flat ... I think that car was Terrible1's - he may have offered a template to make the flat floor.
