My Focus won't start!!! Help...

I can't put my key in the ignition far enough to turn it, the button on the auto won't push in and it won't move, and my steering wheel is stuck!!

What's wrong?

try to turn the steering wheel over to the side and then try turning the key at the same time. Some times the wheel locks up and you can't start the car.

I just heard from a tow truck driver that he has towed more than 300 foci with bad ignition switches. Same problem you mentioned. Seems to be a 2000 focus problem. <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by wonj:

I'm under the impression that it happens to automatic trans cars mostly. Hope that's right, I've got a 5sp.

Mine's done it about three times since I've had it and yes it's an auto. Looks like another trip to the dealer. What fun!!!!!

This happened to my Focus today, I had to have my car towed to the dealership. I forced my key into the ignition but the key wont turn.

My car's a 5speed. The tow truck driver said he himself has towed 5 other Foci with the same problem in my area.
