Default Hood Alignment Problems!!!

Well......right out of the factory my hood was mal-aligned and the paint chipped in the upper right corner.

Now my hood wont close like some others that I have seen with a small drop......MY HOOD WONT CLOSE WITH A BIG DROP!!!!

I have to force it shut with my hand......so now there is that F@#$@#%ing crease and a dent in the middle of the hood where I have to push down.

......I can hear the Dealership now.....well..since you put a new grille and headlights then that messes up your alignment!!

Grrrrrrrrr...........

It dont bother me that much since I have a new hood planned to go on this summer anyways but come on!!!!!

I will have the new one professionally installed/painted/aligned!!!!

On my right headlight my hood sticks up. it doesn't touch the rubber on the light and the crease next to the fender has a big gap. Pretty embarrasing to show people this car!

Same here. But I've got Hellas. The hood itself is hitting the Hellas, causing the paint on the Hellas and on the hood to chip away. I have no idea how to fix this situation and hope to find a fix soon. The driver's side of the hood is also lower then the passenger-side.

Ford does a seriously crappy job installing these hoods - I've almost never seen one straight. The closed height is adjustable by turning the rubber topped bumpers on eith side of the engine compartment. A hood that doesn't sit square in the opening has to be adjusted at the hinges - don't try this without a helper, and take note of any factory installed shims. Mark the hinges before loosening anything, so you can return it to where it was before you started if all else fails...

Have any of you tried turning the adjustment stops at the front of the engine bay? There are two knobs on your radiator support beam that you can simply screw in and out to adjust how the front of the hood aligns, and how tight it is when closed.

You might already know about this... just my $.02
