Busted the Tranny? - Focaljet

Ok, this is so not happening. Yesterday, I have lost all my gears. Basically There is no distinction between 1st 2nd 3rd, what so ever. The tech guy is telling me that is a ABUSE so they're probably not going to cover it under warranty.
They're saying that it's due to hard shifting into 2nd that I broke the Lever and the housing which they need to order from Ford.
Has this occured to anyone? Do I shift THAT hard? I mean there must be people (Dennis, Randy...etc.) that abuse the car a LOT harder b/c of track use. And I ONLY have drove on streets....
Sigh.... anyone got ANY input??

I'm sorry to hear about your trouble but I don't think they can just say that and leave it. I know of plenty of people on here who have drag race thier focus regularly and never had a transmission failure, and i would think that is about as abusive as you can get. I would ask them to prove that it is because of abuse that the part failed. Just because they say it is doesn't prove anything. I bet they are trying to cover up a mistake they made, have you ever had the tranny service at the dealer?? You can also try ford customer service and see if that helps if all that fails call transport canada automotive complaints and then call a lawyer. the least you should do is start yelling at the service manager and the owner of the dealership.

What exactly is broken again? Please elaborate. I often shift w/o letting off the gas as well as others here on the jet, and I've even seen some 200hp SVT Contour owners shift REALLY hard (although they have the differential to worry about).

Sounds like the usual load of crap they are feeding you. Forward your complaint to Ford customer service and deny any level of fault on your part for the mechanical failure. Asking to speak with the general manager may help as well, but remember to be curteous to the manager while "outraged" by his employees. If all else fails, someone can post some numbers for you try.

It may just be easier for you to try another Ford dealership first though. Although I assume you already had it towed to that one dealer right?

Thanks a lot guys, I'll give all these a try, hopefully something good will come out of it as soon as I get a chance to speak to them in person.
