Default ignition problem

has any 1 had a problem with there stering wheel locking upp and key not going in all the way any 1 have to get that fixed to be able to drive again

That has never happened to my focus, but it has happened to my mom's 89 taurus a couple of times. We took it to an auto tech and they said:all you had to do was turn the wheel over alittle bit while you are turning the ignition. That's really all that I can tell you, so hope it helps some.

It happened to me in my focus the first time I got in it after I bought it. All you do is wiggle the wheel a little while your turning the key and then it will start with no problems. This has something to do with the wheel being turned to far in one direction when the car is stopped.

actually it is due to the steering wheel lock just wiggle the wheel and turn the key and all is ok.........

yea i tryed all thoes but didnt work well i talked to a repair guy who said it happens a lot and should be a recall
