I took my car for service at Folsom Lake Ford in Ca. They had my intake torn apart when some brilliant tech needed a picture of the odometer. He got in turned the key too far and BBQ'ed my eneine!!!! The car is a total loss. They are in the process of making it right but it could take some time. I think they should give me an SVT!!!!! But they are'nt an SVT dealer (no wonder). Do not take your car here for service, unless you want to get treated like crap untill they burn your car! See Pics at http://fordfog.tripod.com Before pics are on the "My Focus page".

Thanks for all your support folks. I have been thinking SVT, but right now i'm a little pissed off at Ford. I thought I would have recived more support from them when I called customer service. They sounded sorry and all but I don't think they called the dealer to see what happend or anything. Right now I have my eye on a mazda MP3 or Protege5. The MP3 is the new benchmark for this class of car thru the 700 foot slalom...68mph. The focus did it at 66mph and the old benchmark was set by the Acura integra (i don't know the speed of it. I do/ did love my SE minus the multi problems i had with it. They can't be all bad though, 6 of us at work bought Foci, all shapes and sizes Kona,x2 SE,x2 LX,x1 Wagon,x1 and a ZX2 all have been no trouble. Just mine (the first one) has a nasty spell on it. I will keep you all informed on this as I get info. Thanks again for the support.

I'm sure your dealer received a call from the Customer Assistance Center regarding your call. I work at a Ford dealer, and if one of our customers calls CAC with a concern, we usually get a call within the hour notifying us of the concern.
In this case I don't see Ford coming through with a new car for you because it wasn't a problem with the car, rather a mistake during the repair process. Any compensation will have to come out of your dealer's pocket. Brian ------------------ Current ride: 01 Focus Street Edition Sedan Malibu Blue MTX |

Well there were problem with the car and I was going to take it to the board for a lemon buy back. I told my dealer that too. My car had 19500 on it and my front rotors, pads, all tire's were out. The headlamp dropped silicon inside itself (looked like a big slug) the driver window trim kept popping up when you roll the window up. The front and rear made squeeking noise going over speed bumps, and the front would clunk sometimes. When I got the car there were problems with the paint and they tried to fix it three times before i just got tired of taking it back, the last time they got silver over spray on the front fender. the first time i took it for service there it came back with screws missing from the air cleaner and the hood support rod just gone! Trust me, it is a combonation of I got a bad car and they can't do good service to save there life! I am a service tech myself and have been for the last 13 years. I hold people to the same standards I use when servicing digital printers and networks. If my customers arn't happy I go the extra mile untill they are. Some people you just can not please, but I am realistic and not one of them. I will buy a new car every 3 years as I use them for work. How I am treated tells me where to get my next car. You can make the best product in the world, but it is still only as good as the service after the sale!

Holy cow!! I couldn't believe the pictures I saw.
The dealership has insurance, they have the ability to give you a new car right away. I know someone who took in a jeep or something to a dealership to be serviced. Something went wrong on the hoist and the jeep fell off and smashed on the floor below. So they called the guy and told him to pick a car off the lot. Do not let them 'repair' your car, there's been too much damage. They have to give you a new one, if they resist, call a lawyer, and also inform them you have photos and will be contacting the LOCAL newspaper with the photos. NO ONE will buy from them once they get published. End result will be you will get a new car. Fight for your rights though. |

Damn!
Dude, there is no way in fixing that properly...... Seriously, listen to some of these advices, they are pretty good and will get you on the right track. I am sorry, I know this is more or less useless post, but I was just disturbed that they could blow the engine like that. Morons. |

There is no question that this dealership is obligated to replace your car with the exact same model OR better. That's what their 'business' insurance policy is for...stupid employees doing stupid things.
Demand a new car in the form of a certified letter. Give them 14 days to respond..no response, GET A LAWYER !!!!! And have that dealership pay your legal fees. There isn't a judge in the world that will not hold them accountable, no matter what they say. I would also report this to your insurance company in the meantime...just to be safe. Just make it clear to your insurance co. that you are holding the dealer responsible for the claim until further notice. That way, if hell freezes over and you can't get teh dealer to pay...you're still covered. good luck, and keep us posted |

OMFG...I just noticed you had pics of your car...I am comletely speachless... I didnt think a tech could be this stupid... If that had been my car, i cant even imagine what I would have done...
Im getting angry just thinking about it. lol. Did you call the cops, file a police report? I cant believe the dealer only offered to pay your deductable...as if your insurance should cover his techs negligence. I would have fully expected the dealer to give me the new focus of my choice of his lot immediatly... Keep us informed |

get yourself a lawyer cause they are in the wrong. Accept nothing less than brand new do not let them replace your parts with used ones.
