It took me a while to get that key to turn. I did not want to leave my car where it was. Maybe I just got lucky to get it to turn

Just happened to me the other day... car's at the local dealer until I have $325 to go pick it up.
Ford is still saying that this issue is non-existant. Customer care told me that I was the first one that they had heard of with this problem. I love the car, but because of their service, this is my last Ford. |

It happened to my 2000 Focus ZTS when I had it. It was covered under warranty. I only had 18,000 miles on it.

The dealers knew, the tow truck driver knew, all of you know, but for some reason Ford has no clue!

Add me to the list please! Stuck for 4 hours in the parking lot of a shopping center. Tried everything n finally shelled out the money to get my car towed home. Can locksmiths fix this? I don't wanna go to the Ford dealer. They're usually jerks!

Yes locksmith's can fix this, but there is a catch. If they drill out the column to far you will have to shell out another 200-300 dollars for a new steering column. Good luck to you

Mine locked a while back. They fixed it. Then a couple of months ago it locked again. They told me they would fix it but they were taking too long on getting me in. I can still get accessory power just won't turn all the way over. So the first night I push started it, the next day I hot wired it to go to the store, then I installed a push button start. It works, but I still think I'm gonna get it fixed.

My car is a 2000 ZX3
My first ignition lock went out during the warranty period. My second ignition lock just went out and this time there is no warranty. Ford needs to recall this part. |

umm... i don't know what kinda problem you guys are going through, but do you mean where your steering wheel gets locked up and you can't turn the car on? i think what you can do is rock the steering wheel back and forth and whiel doing so, attempt to click the ignition, it takes about 10 seconds.
