Default hesitating engine when i have a 1/4 tank of gas

latley my 2000 focus (155,000 miles) starts to bog down and somtimes stall when i have a 1/4 ( or slightley under ) tank of gas can anyone help?????

Time to replace the fuel delivery module (fuel pump). Very common problem with your year and mileage.
This is a recall on most 2000-2001 Focus, so check your dealership first. In fact tell them you know it is a recall and describe the symptoms. They will most likely replace it for free under the recall.

It's extended warranty program 03N01, but it won't come up as a recall, so you may have to mention it to them depending on how well their system is checked/updated. The program started in Nov 2003, but I think some dealers either aren't keeping up with these programs, or are purposely ignoring them... who knows which.

Just mine replaced at the dealer about 3 weeks ago. No charge to me on my 2001. Just make sure that they actually reconnect the filler tube on the car so that you do not spill gas everywhere, esp when you are paying $4.00+ per gallon.
