Default problem with traction control button sticking

i have an 05 zx3 ses. i havent used my traction control for a while and had to use it last night and came up on a problem. when i press the button it engages the traction control but the button sticks in the engaged position but eventually raises back up. during this time though, the traction control will diengage after 10 seconds or so. any suggestions?

Default Re: problem with traction control button sticking

I always thought traction control was on by default, and that pressing the traction control button would turn it off and the dash light comes on.

Since the button is on the console, maybe it's just gummed up with spilled coffee or liquid?

Default Re: problem with traction control button sticking

I had the same issue... in my 07 TC is on my default, pressing the button until the light on the dash comes on... turns it off... gotta play with it a lot in the snow...

Anyway... since I had this issue (wife spilled mountain dew on the center console part there wonderful... I know) I just took the thing apart took out the button and cleaned it as best I could... that doesn't mean throw it in water (although deionized water will not hurt it)... but use a few alcohol pads and wipe the button and take the cover off the top of the button and wipe around in there... worked for me! Yay.
