Default My second autocross of the season

Well, as the title says, yesterday was my second autocross of the year. What a blast!

I'm loving the Eibach springs and Konis more every time I drive hard, the car is just so predictable. Example: My second run of four, on a long, very irregularly spaced slalom, I tried to hold too much speed coming into the last cones and following gate and the rear end got loose. I overcorrected and went through the next three gates at various angles, and we run very narrow gates. Very exciting! I hit one cone on the third gate with my rear tire travelling about 30 degrees sideways, but it jumped straight up and landed back in the box! I got it under control just before a narrow corridor, and I could hear the course workers cheering when I saved it. Smiles all the way to the finish line! Next run I slowed down a bit in that section!

I ended up with the 8th fastest time of the day out of 30-something drivers! That's with the stock Goodyear tires with about 2/32" tread left. My fastest was 61.4xx seconds, the FTD was a Honda S2000 with slicks - 58.xxx seconds.

I helped design the course, and I was still surprised by parts of it - I really need to work on looking/thinking farther ahead! The car has so much potential that I'm not exploiting yet. With time...

BTW: Rob, Chris F, and all Canadians, are you thinking of coming to Nationals this year in Winnipeg?

Good show! I'm seeing your times, and those of Chris with his H&R's... and I'm salivating thinking about my first event with real shocks.

Nope, too far.
