Default Crappy 1/4 mile times

Just went to my local dragway for the first time in my life with some of my friends.

2 best times 16.191@86mph and 16.205@86mph.
1 worse time 16.78@85mph

My friend has a SE sport and got his best time at 16.344@86mph TOTALLY STOCK!?!

That's the big deal ? Surrely I had 16" wheels and he is on stock ones but ?

Damn...that's better than I got. My best is a 16.7something. I must be doing something wrong too...
Shifting at around 6K every time. Launching alittle under 3K and flooring it the whole time pretty much...well, as much as I can.
I have felt another sort of "performance wave" when I launched really well and caught the 1-2-3 shiftpoints pretty close to being at what felt like the ideal RPM ranges, but that's purely subjective.
Of course, the focus isn't exactly a drag car, either.

Forget to mention that I do not have any tach so I have no idea of my shift point rpms ... I shift at 45km/h and 90km/h and the race is finished before I shift into 4th gear

don't be too unhappy....i went 16.2 and i have intake, superchip and UDP
i went 16.4 stock
my problem was i was launching too high and couldn't hook
next time i go I will have the diablo chip in and hopefull I can get down to where my times should be in the high 15's

your friends 16.3 at 86mph doesn't seem right..the mph seems too high for a stock focus

Im the one you did this. With a 100% stock focus.

I have to find a scanner to scan my timeslip and picture of my car, for a proof.
