I want to race my car in the type of races that SPEEDVISION shows on TV or something like that but don't know how to get started. What would I need to do to my car to prepare it and where could I race it.

Well, autocrossing is easy. The type of stuff they show on Speedvision (I assume you mean Speedvision Cup) is very hard.
You need years and years of training and practice, and butt loads of money. Autocross... just make sure your car is in good working order (roadworthy) and show up. That's it. Just find out when your next local event is, and go. Just be sure to have some way of inflating your tires to 45psi (compressor or air tank, or local gas station), make sure your fluids are topped up, your battery is secure, your wheel bearing are tight and that's it. You'll need to empty all loose items from the car when you get there. That's all there is to it. All SCCA events have loaner helmets. The single most important thing you can do to be faster in autocross on your first day is: Seek out the help of an experienced guy. |

Yep and it's a blast.. To me it's way more challenging than drag racing. Especially if your car is not that fast..
