Default Finally got my Timeslips Scanned!!!!!!!!!

The first one is the first pass I made. The second one is the best time I ran, andd the third is one of the rounds I won in the bracket(as you can see by the MPH, I had to let off so I didnt break out). More details later when I get home.

you didn't run a 15.59 at 71.93mph in a focus dude. that indicates a much faster car that backed out of it for some reason ... especially with the few mods you have listed. nice try though.... unless your launching with nitrous engaged ... even then i doubt it.

times / mph look remarkably similar to what a 5.0 stang would create. again, the tell-tale sign it is not a focus is your suppossed slowest timeslip ... a 15.59 @ 71.93 .... c'est impossible.

Another thing is why would you dial a 15.50 when your car was running in the 14's in the passes earlier???Would of been better dialing a 14.94 or a 15.00 and tappin the brakes a little less on the big end.

In the infamous words of Ricky Ricardo "Lucy you got some splanin to do."

Err..you "let up" so you wouldn't break out and lost 2 mph in second 1/8th of the track?

I'm not ready to call B.S. on this one, because I don't know how a Focus responds to some of the mods you have, but I too am curious why you would dial in a 15.50 on your first bracket run.

Interesting that the 3rd slip looks completely different than the other 2 as well. Oh, and by the way, each time you edit your post, get in the habit of deleting the [This message has been edited...]. It can't hurt to appear you only edited once.

Well, sorry toi disappoint all of you, but these times WERE in my focus. What I didnt have time to tell any of you is that I had a 50 shot of nitrous. And the third timeslip was when the bracket class was going. The bracket class was for cars that ran 15.00 and slower. Well I COULD have been in the 14.00 to 14.99 class, but I wouldnt have made it very far. So I dialed in a slower time and ran the slower cars. And since it was bracket racing, all I had to do was beat the other car to the finish line without breaking out. The third timeslip was against my friend Joe with a 96 civic. I was WAY ahead of him close to the finsh line, so I knew I was gonna break out. So I let off and even tapped the brakes. I had no clue I was gonna be that close to my dial in for that run. Pure luck. Wel, I hope all of you will quit calling me a liar now. I said in the post that I would have details later, and you all just started runnin your mouths instead of waited a little while for the whole story. I'm sorry if this comes across rude, but all of you came across that way first. (and I edited that post 4 times trying to get the timeslips SIDE BY SIDE, and not make the post so large) PEACE

PS: If it will make all of you happy, I will take pictures of the timeslips with my digital camera instead of scanning them. Again, I AM telling the truth. If there is anything I can do to further prove that point, just ask.

Cool, you should have had the 50 shot listed in your sig. Those times seem just about right, now. It just took you so long to reply, more and more people kept replying, and said you lied. Anyway, what NOS system are you using?

In all fairness, not only did you not list the 50 shot of NOS, but you did a helluva lot more than "let up" against your friend if you trapped 2mph slower than your 1/8th mile time. This is where my speculation was.

Also, why would you "not last long" in the 14 second class? You'd think that after 2 consecutive decent passes you'd be better off dialing in what you'd been running earlier in the day, not speculating on what you might run. Anyway, good runs, regardless.

Re-read my post... there are some things in there you probably missed.

Don't take it to heart Toyboom. People are a little sceptical due to the amount of people that frankly make plain BS claims on forums like this. A conditioned response at the expense of guys like yourself. BTW, awesome times my man! Way to represent team lonestar.

OKIE DOKIE. Now that we have all of the cleared up, I cant give the details about the race day. I went to Alamo and bought some NGK plugs(1 degree colder for the nitrous) Went to the track and m with my cam gear settings to -6, -14 Well, My very first pass was the 14.991, so I was pretty happy. Then I found out later in the day what the classes would be. There was NO bracket class for cars running 14.99 or faster. There was a 14 second class all by itself. So that means there there were cars running 14.00 and I was running damn near 15.00. So there is no way I could have won that class. So I decided to stick with the bracket class (15.00 and slower) Well, after a few runs, I decided to change my cam gear settings to +3,-12(as per Alamo for the nitrous) Thats when I ran the 14.942. Anyhoo, I wound up getting dicked by the track (I dailed in a 15.10 and they put it up as a 15.00) well turns out that I lost the race by .012. That means if they would have gotten my dial in correct, I would have advanced to another round, but the track officials said it was MY FAULT that I didnt catch the error, so I was eliminated. OH WELL(still had a good, fun day) UNTIL... I went home and decided to change my plugs back to factory (car idled like **** with the NGK's) When I took the NGK's out, I noticed something that I hadnt before. THE DAMN THINGS WERENT THE RIGHT ONES FOR MY CAR!!!!! They had a washer around the base of em that made them WAY too short. I dont think they stuck into the chamber AT ALL. Well, after I put my factory ones back in, I went up and down the street and DAMNIT my car was running a WHOLE lot quicker. So I dont think I had a very good day at the track now. I cant wait till the 28th and 29th to go back and run some more. Well, I've talked long enought. PEACE

In bracket racing it doesn't matter how fast your car is, it matters how consistant your times are and how good your R/T is. Since you had a very very good R/T and could run consistantly around 14.9 you should have been fine in the faster class.

If the other car had a dial in of 14.0 and your dial in was 14.9, you would just start .9 seconds before they did, and the race should be based upon R/T and how close to your dial in you run (without going under).

Its hard to understand Toyboom with his strong Texan accent...even while typing. What I think he was trying to say is that there was only a bracket class for cars 15 seconds or slower.

*stepping away slowly*

He probably just didn't notice your distinction between just plain old "14 second class" and "bracket class".

Me either! I seriously need to try out my slow Focus so I can at least have some baseline test to compare to later. Try to take some pics your next time out...well provided you go with a friend. Your reaction times might suffer if you are trying to photograph stuff heheh.

No guys, what he isn't mentioning is that the 14.00-14.99 second class is heads up racing......meaning who ever runs closest to 14 flat without going faster.....I was at that race and saw him run.
