Many thanks to Stretch at the Mazda6 boards for posting these.

While most of this isn't track specific, it provides the underlayings for the fundimentals of setuping up your car.

WOW.. Thanks so much for saving this guys, I just spent two hours reading every one of those threads. I can't believe how many times the proverbial light bulb turned on in my head. I've got a few pages of notes to go over now, but WOW that's like the Ford Focus guide to vehicle dynamics and driving.

My favorite part was a comment by Michael in the ABS post. "Auto-X is Largely Go Like Hell, Brake Like Hell, and Turn as required".

Thanks

Thanks MichaelXi.

At the time of this post, I've only read the thread re: 'stiff suspension'- where thanks also go to P-51 and especially WeldingRod for his time, experience and unselfishness in posting all that welding info.

what do i need to bring? a short list-extra oil, brake and power steering fluid; white shoe polish for numbers, long sleeved sirt and pants, comfortable soft shoes, sneakers etal that allow you to work pedals easily; tire pressue guage; torque wrench; jack; water or gatorade (save the beer for after!); spare fan belt (debris from track can kill them); a good attitude; remember that road racers are the friendliest people on earth-if you need something, i am sure it can be borrowed. i'll think of more later!

While ruminating on the benefits of some aerodynamic options, I ran across this in an [FJ] thread:

Splitter explanation...

It was very handy. I might have missed it, but didn't see anything about aerodynamics issues in the big list. Anyway, I'm getting the RRG air dam/splitter combination. This page helped me understand how it works.

The parent page is pretty good too, but I basically was pointed at the splitter page.

Parent page for the splitter explanation...

Guys, Don't forget that this is here if you want to brush up, or if you're just getting into things.
All links are important, but don't overlook the Books list, as there is alot to learn that can't be covered in a quick thread.
