Since your thread's title is not posed as a question but an answer, you are hereby ordered to share all known gear ratio information with the rest of the class.

Without triple-checking the accuracy of your work, we give you an A+ for fact-finding and eff0rt.

Now then: Your post is a timely one; there's some talk lately of the advantages and disadvantages associated with the Getrag's 6 forward ratios and their rev spacing.

1 minute later...

Does the thread title need editing?

Those should be easy to find. Us 03-04 Duratec owers are always looking to get rid of ours for something better.

Forgive me with a stupid question, I need to rebuild my mxt-75 on my 2000 zx3. But I want a taller 5th gear so I can have lower rpms on the freeway for better mpg's.
What size of gearing should I look into for this. 3.41? or is this already stock in my current tranny?
thanks
mike

I'm gonna go ahead and bump this,

and I put this together --> http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HFR5J64F

If it works right you should only be able to adjust the tire size and gear ratios. Let me know if it works that way.

Great post BTW Reza!

Curious if you've tried contacting Terry? He might be able to get a set --> http://www.fordcontour.org/index.php?showuser=1268

I'm not sure how else to contact him, sorry.

Ok I need your incredible math skills. What would the mph be with the following gear ratios be assuming a 24.4 diameter tire is being used?

I need these ratios figured with both a 4.600 & 4.857 final drive.

1st gear: 2.643
2nd gear: 1.824
3rd gear: 1.400
4th gear: 1.130
5th gear: 0.962

Also need these ratios figured with both a 4.600 & 4.857

1st gear: 2.462 or 2.643
2nd gear: 1.824
3rd gear: 1.400
4th gear: 1.182
5th gear: 1.040

Same format as the spreadsheet, actual final, 2,000RPM, 4K, 6K.
All you really should have to do though is plug the numbers in, the blue should be editable.

Nevermind I figured out the formula.
Looks like I won't go with quite that low of a final drive. 114 mph bouncing off rev limiter in 5th gear won't work since I already hit that speed on half track as is
