how to install short shifter - Focaljet

anyone out there can help me i just bought a short shifter for my 05 zx3 and could any one give my a right up on installing it. it looks stright foward but i just want some advice

I believe 05 is the same as previous years up until 2002.5

The whole process should be 15 minutes.

(going by memory)

1. untwist stock shift knob.
2. pop off shift boot.
3. (4) 8mm bolts secure the mounting plate. Loosen and remove.
4. (1) Phillips screw holding shift linkage on to the shaft. Loose and remove.
5. Pop off the linkage cable and remove reverse lock-out from shaft.
6. Remove Shaft
7. Apply the grease that came with your new shorty and insert into the ball-joint mount plate. Screw the plate down.
8. Reinstall in the reverse order.
