Default Quaife LSD for MTX75

Is there one made by Torsen with the same fitting as the Quaife for the MTX75 gearbox.

Yes, and it can be purchased through Ford Racing or through many of our sponsors.

Torsen T2. For most purposes just as good; though technically not (warranty and rebuildability of a Quaife is just better).

I'm a cheapass so I bought the T2 and have nothing but good things to say about it. Major improvement in take off and turning.

Ok thats good to hear.
You are saying that the Torsen T2 is the one for the Ford MTX75.
Could someone put the corresponding Quaife unit part up please.

There are probably other T2 units for other transmissions.

CFM sells both. go to their website focus.c-f-m.com

Indeed, the T2 name is used throughout the Torsen product line.

i wouldnt bother getting one unless you are going to be going 300bhp plus in the future (you wont have much choice but to get one if you do hike the power that much due to cornering being a nightmare lol). its alot of money for something you only really need for big-boost on a front wheel drive car.

my supercharged zetec (230bhp at the flywheel) runs fine on the standard diff, handling/grip on the twisties is amazing

i had to get a torsen diff on the zetec turbo however, because i couldnt really hit the gas when cornering due to there being a load of power going through one front wheel.

I don't agree with that at all.

Anybody who autocrosses can tell you that even a stock 2.0L Zetec would benefit from an ATB diff.

They're not even that expensive, really. If you're spending the money for any sort of forced induction, a differential upgrade is small change.

OmniFocus rode with me at my last autocross. I was fairly gentle on the throttle and an open diff on a fairly stock duratec peg legged the entire course aside from straight line accel.

i know that mick doesnt do any track stuff though, his car is just for street and fast road. i'd be inclined to tweak the suspension a bit further, then see if the handling/grip is as he wants it before resorting to the expensive diff upgrade (it costs much more in the UK to get done than it does in USA)
