I couldn't really make out the last 1/2 of that response. The lemon law sates that the same problem must come up 4 times to qualify. I just got my ST 2 weeks ago and read the lemon law form you have to sign.
If you have a bearing type noise on the center/right, it could also be the intermediate shaft carrier bearing. At one point it was a semi-common failure, but it has been years since then. An entire new right side axle and intermediate shaft assembly should solve the problem... and the part only costs Ford around $120.
..if that is the problem.
Either way, the 2005 Focus front axles are the same as all 03 and 04 Duratec equipped Foci, so I don't feel this is a line problem so much as just a single vehicle.
That's it in a nutshell - ironic aside: the first rental they put me in was a bottom-of-the-line Focus zx3 - It's now in the shop 'cause it had the exact same noise mine has!! Well, we'll see what happens after Monday - I've printed out the Hawaii Lemon Law and the advise I've found on this site - sure hope it doesn't come to that, though - I really LOVE my banana boat!! Mahalo Nui for the input!
Are you sure it's not the noise almost every mtx-75 focus has? The gear noise a low rpms.
