As I announced, Focus On The Beach has seen its final sunset over the pacific. Thank you to everyone for making it a great 8 years! Most especially FSWerks/FocusSport for supporting us EVERY YEAR! Raffi, Randy, Vik, Ivan, Dan, The Other Ivan, Hubie, Ilie, Clint... you guys have all been part of something epic over the last few years... some have moved on, others stick around. But thank you ALL for having been a part of our show.
Ron Meyers cannot go without the love here. Ron has put together one of the most awesome forums in the world, and he deserves every bit of recognition here. FOTB would NOT happen if it weren't for Ron's support and encouragement. Ron, I can't thank you enough.
Powerworks, Cosworth, H&R, Exedy, Microsoft Auto, 3dCarbon, Saleen, 76 Cool Blue Racing Fuel, Jackson Racing, Hawk, Barber Ford, CFM, Massive Speed System, New Edge Performance, and I'm sure there are a couple others I'm forgetting, you are forever in my debt, and the debt of hundreds of Focus Owners throughout the US for making these events great with your contributions as well.
But while FOTB is gone, the idea has just merely evolved, into the next big thing. Its clear that we all love small cars, particularly Fords. Its clear that there are more than just one car that we love, especially now that the Fiesta is here... And thats why I'm happy to announce that beginning in 2011, we will now be the Focus Beach Fiesta, an event dedicated to all small cars rocking the blue oval. Focus, Fiesta, Escort, Festiva (ok maybe not ) if its Ford, and its small, its a part of the new event!
I can't say for certain, but it seems like this year's site was pretty damn awesome.... So I'll be making some phone calls this next week to make sure we're welcome back, and hope to be locking in a date very very soon!
In the meantime, please enjoy these shots of FOTB 2010, and we'll have much much more to come!
YNOT's work on display, loved by all!
Best in Show: Joseph Dane
Best Coupe (beating me, ): Cliff Truesdell
Best Sedan: Richard Chavez
Best Hatch: Dave Lupperger
Chairman's Award: Randy Robles (Not handed out, but I just decided that it was too damn sexxxy to not win anything)
FSWerks' Ivan and Dan are not just employees, they're also fans!
The turnout was awesome!
Nothing but roofs and a tent could be seen!!!
And the WTF of the day.... when these two came walking through.... :dunno:arty:
