Default Help With Tranny

I Have A 2003 Lx, With An Automatic Tranny And Just Had My Over Drive Go Out. Has Anybody Had This Problem? And Even Before This Happened, When The Tranny Would Shift, It Will Take A While To Shift, Like If It Is Slipping. I Just Had A Complete Tranny Flush With All New Fluid, But It Is Still Acting Up. Anyboby Had This Problem Before? Any Suggestions?

How many miles on the car? If the trans is acting up and you change the fluid,
you are practically guarranteed to wipe the trans out completely, much faster
than leaving in the old ATF. You mentioned your overdrive going out. Does it have
a button on the shifter for the O/D? Have never seen a Auto Focus.

don't know about the focus auto tranny, but a while ago, I lost the overdrive in my Accent, a defective relay was the problem.

The trans fluid being black is better than being silverish. It just means that it's been a long time overdue on a change. Is it Banging gears or just doing the old
Slip once in a while?

It Slips Once In A While, And The Car Has About 50,000 Miles. When I Drop It Into First, It Wont Get First. It Goes Into Second. Today It Started Shifting Ok, Still Not The Way It Should.

At 50K that sounds like it's been thru hell and back.Probably has never had a
trans service done.I would recommend having it done at the first 30K.When I
met my wife, she had a Subie Imp with 155K on it.The Reverse crapped out
since she didn't do the trans services as mentioned. She bought a Vdub and
the guy that tested the car didn't put it in reverse to check it since it drove
fine and then got a call later about it from the dealership. The deal was done
and they got a Subie with no reverse.HaHa.We took off before they tried to
put it into the shop.We just stated that it was fine for us.Sux to be them.
