Default PCV valve on 2003 Focus SPI engine

I am looking for the PVC valve on my 2003 Ford Focus SE with the 2.0-SPI engine. I pulled the hose and did not find a PCV valve anywhere near the valve cover. I followed the long hose all the way to the air box and there is a filter there. Where or is there a PCV valve on this engine?

If you are looking at your engine, it is located on the back to the right. There is a black hose connected to it.

Funny. When I had my Focus, it didn't have a pcv valve.

I'm having the same problem. Is it located on the valve cover? There's just 2 hoses coming off the valve cove

It's the hose on the back right of the valve cover. Remove the hose. There will be a black piece still in the valve cover. Twist it out. THAT is the PCV.

You mean the barb that the breather connects to? Thats not a PCV, its just a barb. (note U shaped rubber hose.) all it does is give somewhere for the breather hose to connect to.

I believe he meant "back right of the valve cover" meaning the viewers right, not the cars right. Or in other words, back driver side of the valve cover.

Word.

It's just below and to the left of the ribbed area of the upper intake tube in the pic posted.

I have a zetec, not SPI, 2002, but my PCV valve is located on the right side of the engine (Front right) near where the radiator hose connects to the engine. It's about 8 inches below the Oil filler cap.

Ya, they are in different places...but then, so are lots of things.

I've arrowed it on the pic...easier.

There isn't anything on the block side, just on the VC? All the cars I've seen have had some sort of the valve cover breather and then the PCV coming from the block.

Hey folks, one word of advice, the standard for describing Right and Left on a vehicle is the side of the car you would be looking at AS IF YOU WERE SITTING IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT. So when you say "left", it's the driver's side of the vehicle, "right" is the passenger. So when you go to a dealer or auto repair facility and say the noise is on the left, the service writer kows EXACTLY which side of the vehicle you are describing! This is the FIRST thing I taught my students in my GM technician classes!

My car is having a similar problem. The rubber hose that bends down after the PCV valve sucks shut when the car is running. Does anyone know if there is a replacement anywhere? My car has been missing very randomly so i decided to open up my pipercross intake and clean the filter and the mass air flow sensor as well. I opened up everything to find oil laying in the bottom of my pipercross housing and oil sprayed all over the MAF. It looked as though someone had sprayed my MAF with cooking oil that one would use in a pan.
