Default Quick question about coilpacks

Hey all, I'm needing to replace my stock coilpack due to a big crack down the back of it, and I've been looking at the options for the SPI.
I'd like some quick opinions to help me decide which one will be the best option for me.
I've been looking at Accel, MSD, and Screamin' Demon.. Also, I'm figuring on getting the Massive MSX80 wires because they seem to be a good price and decent construction, is this a pretty good set of wires? or should I look at another set?

Overall, what I need to know is.......

Does it matter which coil I get in terms of needing longer bolts and spacers to install?

Which one seems to have the best life span and stability under moderate to harsh driving conditions. (lots of stop and go, high heat from sitting in traffic jams in summer, crazy climate changes from day to night...*like from 25 at night to 85 durring the day*... the ocasional "light to light" competition.. ) (no mods I don't street race, this is for basic information purposes only..)

Are the new plug gap setting similar from coil to coil, or are there decent differences between brands? if so, what are the gap settings for each?

I know this is borderline newb questioning, but I would just like to know before I decide which one I go with... So far I'm thinking of doing the Accel coil with the Massive wires and staying with autolite platinum plugs, but anyone who would like to tell me their setup, give info on the parts I've listed, or just flame me for not already knowing it I'd love to hear from you.

I've got the MSD coil pack and wires from Massive and use Motorcraft platinum plugs.
Its a great setup, and I haven't had any problems with it yet.
I've been using this setup for about a year now and I love it. Idle is so smooth.
My stock coil pack was failing on me too at the time, and this was a nice upgrade.

That site is still running??!? lol the EFP pack is a rebadged MSD at an inflated price. You can get an MSD coil pack for $60..I would still go with the screamin' demon though!

Well, I went ahead and ordered the Massive/MSD package. I think it'll do me pretty good, and thanks all for the replies.

First place that comes to mind is Steeda, which is one of our team sponsors.

Here's a link to the SD coil on Steeda, http://www.steedafocus.com/store/Ele...c25/index.html The listing says Zetec only, but it should work fine. Just use longer bolts and some spacers to install it.

As for wires, there's a couple options.
I ordered a set of the MSX 80 wires from Massive Speed System. --> https://ssl.perfora.net/www.massives...dex.shopscript

Another option is this combo pack from Newedge Performance --> http://www.newedgeperformance.com/in...ROD&ProdID=295 it comes with the SD coil and a set of Livewires made for the SPI motor.

Also, keep in mind that if you're going with the SD coil, whatever wires you go with will have to have the propper connectors for the aftermarket coil, factory wires will not work, nor will aftermarket wires made to fit OEM coils. Propper wire ends have plastic clips on the ends made to snap in place on the towers of the SD coil.

Hope this helps!

For some reason the link for Massive won't go straight to the listing for the wires. When you go to their website, click the following... Product Overview - Focus - Engine - SPI. That should get you where you need to be.

Purely opinion..

I really like good ol' Autolite platinums, great plugs.

The MSD coil with Massive wires has been a decent setup so far, altho I need to check the plug gap, it's still idling too rough for my liking, and I don't remember if I set the gap on these plugs.. Other than that, seems to be a nice setup.
