Default Fuel system management or ECM ?

OK here 's the run down guys and or girls ,i have a 2000 focus that has been running great until a few days ago ...
i have had plenty of cars before all japanese and never once had a problem so this is my first american car and so far its garbage
this is a list of things that happen maybe be some one knows what i can do or suggest
1.) Sometimes car will not start ,turns over but will not start

2.) 2 days ago my check engine light came on and the car was not able to hammer down started to sputter under heavy acceleration

3.) The car will shut off when i down shift (like from 3 to 2nd and when i almost come to a stop it cuts )

4.) i got some DTC codes but there intermittent will post when i get them again (laugh out loud)

5.) Um gee what else where can i get better then stock motor mounts for that car 2.0 SPI maybe a insert for the dog bone mount on the bottom...

so thats about it um any non harsh abusiveness please leave it out the forum

just something i just found out um twin turbo 2.3 duratec ( Laugh out Loud ) crazy sexy.

Maybe Something is wrong with the alternator, or charging of your battery-- Related to #1 and #3. Other than that I'm not sure. When you've been here awhile you might want to check out the for sale section on motor mounts. Check the Main SPI forum for what versions will fit the SPI, i believe there is at least two that are Zetec/SPI dually compatible. Good luck with your engine Sir!

No point in doing anything until you obtain the DTC with a code scanner... that's the proper place to start.

^ he's right, we need to know the codes.

But if i had to take a guess: fuel pump, MAF or O2 sensor.

i had a similar problem, and i did a little research and found that our great fuel pumps...cough cough.... tend to fail very early in there lives. ford replaced it for free and wow, what a difference, well that will happen when your only getting 7psi when underload.....still having slight issues, but i think that is fuel filter, very lazy and haven't gotten around to it. but i would say it is a fuel system issue, returnless systems are VERY finiky...hope this helps
