Default Help Asap!

I did the mustang tb swap and I can't get it idle right! I drilled the iac holes and thats all good my gas peddle sits a little higher than normal, I have adjusted the idle screw b/c it was idling too low and it would die. Now i have it idling a little high and it runs and then after a few seconds the rpms start going up a little at a time and it got up to 2K and I killed it before it got any higher than that. Obviously I can't drive it like this so please help me, thanks.

Check your TPS, when I swapped my original TB out and the BDR in, Im pretty sure I broke the TPS, and i had to buy a new one. They are like 12 bucks... Make sure its fitting right as well. However, it doesnt exactly explain why it would simply increase RPM's unless the TPS was wayyyy jacked up.

I got a brand new tps for the tb yesterday. I think the prob is my bottom adapter plate has to big of a hole in it and its leaking air into the iac port inside the tb. I hope thats all it is, I'm working on fixing it now. My ports that I drilled for the iac flow are only about 9/32 instead of 7/16 so i hope thats not too small and affecting anything.

Ok I took it apart and put some silicon sealant over the gap inside the tb and some around the base of it on the outside to make sure it wasn't leaking and its still idling up a lot after a few seconds. The throttle cable is not hooked up at all yet, that shouldn't matter though b/c the idle is controlled by the iac from what i understand. I dunno what else is wrong but I have put more money in this than I wanted and I really want it to work but I'm gonna need my car and I may be forced to put the stock tb back on and forget about it if I can't get it fixed.

You have a vaccum leak, you should spray some carb cleaner around the TB and when the idle drops your leak is where you last sprayed. This helped my ass out tons when I put a B16 TB on my EW4 powered Crx ages ago. Does your mustang throttle plate have a hole in the middle? I know some did, if it does you have to solder that up since it bypasses the IAC and will cause a vaccum leak otherwise.

This morning I cranked it up and it idled normal and I turned it off then cranked it again and now it just dies instantly unless I rev it up and as soon as it idles back down from the rev it dies again.

I was so happy b/c it was going good at first then its all screwed up again. Could it be that since the hole for the iac is only 9/32's that its not gettin enough air to be able to control it?

try disconnecting your battery. i had to do that when i put my new TB on. the reason why this is, is because it is now bring in more air and there isnt a new calibration on the sensor in the intake.

Yeah I disconnected the battery while I was gone to work today and started it up when I got home. This time I pulled the tube off that i'm using for the iac port and it ran better so I think what I need to do is make the iac hole bigger and just run a hose straight to the intake tube. I had to put the stock tb back on for now b/c I needed my car and it runs fine so I know the sensor is still good. I did put my finger over the iac hose and it killed the car instantly, which I expected. That hose had a ton of suction power on it though, it was really loud too when it wasn't in the intake.

Ok I finally got it running almost right with the mustang tb. The only prob I have now is that it idles at about 1300 rpm then when I turn on the A/C it idles at about 950 rpm. I'm wondering if the idle screw will solve this prob or if its still something to do with the iac?
