I was going to do that but the holes are different you would need a new flange.

Holes dont line up and power gains would not be worth it.

The Zetec intake mani is plastic with a built in O-ring. The port opening in the SPI head is no where near the same shape as the Zetec. It would be much easyer to build a intake mani from scratch rather then modifying the Zetec one.

But even if you did build a big mani with a large TB, your intake valve is still gonna be a bottle neck. So there wont be huge gains.

Would an old 1.9 escort GT intake manifold work with the spi head? I've never seen the ports on the 1.9.

The 1.9's have you average "O" shape. The SPI has a total of 8 intake ports in the head. 4 of them are crescent moon shaped.
SPI in too unique for a easy swap. Unless you keep the IMRC in place, that helps a little.

I just wasn't sure if the port on the 1.9 manifold was big enough to go around the spi port. Is it the same bolt pattern even? Might be able to use it with the imrc still installed although I doubt it would give any gains doing that.

Bolt pattern is different, and even with the IMRC the intake port shape is pretty differet.
