SPI Head - The Ford Focus Forum

Ok guys since no one was interested in my SPI engine im gonna be tearing into it and taking off the head. Any advice? This is the first head ill be taking of soo. any help is helpful.

Started tearing into the engine yesterday. Timing belt was pristine.

Nooooo Maby but heres the latest updates.......Well pulled off the intake manifold and guess what i heard..... Metal rattling around in it..... sooooo Another SPI died from a Dropped Valve seat..... If anyone wants the cover or block and what not for parts let me know asap otherwise im scrapping it. I dont have room to rebuild it.

I thought your SPI worked fine before the engine swap? You might have knocked it loose when you hoisted the engine out.

no no phil my engine died while driving through my neighboer hood. I was going ot be replacing it with a zetec but didnt I ended up waiting for it to die before beforming the swap. but thats because I was forced to oh well. And for those of you wondering No I did not and was not flooring it through the neighborhood and driving hard. I was driving like a granny.

That's not what I heard! My Glendale sources told me you were doing neutral drops and drag racing like a fiend!
