do self favor... hit self with breaker bar before turning engine with breaker bar...

then take car to real mechanic, and have them replace starter

Clockwise at the front of the engine (passenger fender). Make sure you do it out of gear.

I'm curious to see if this is the typical SPI dropped valve seat or something minor instead.

thanks a lot.. not helping though...

this is what ive done so far,ive replaced the starter, replace the battery, and all it does now is just a rapid clicks,i replaced the starter relay found in the dash from the junkyard, check fuses are good

only problem of mine is there is another ground wire located at the driver side right next to the ground of negative battery cable which i dont know where it is connected, but it appears it used to be the negative battery cable coz it has a battery connector splice on it.

any suggestions what else to check? i stiil have not tried to turn the engine by hand because of some people here think they are so smart and dont think if the person have some money layin around to pay someone to fix their cars thats why i ask for ideas or suggestions, not to get mock and shut down

now that you explain that, try turning the engine by hand, if it does turn, check your grounds... one i know thats touchy is on the trans right by the starter... take it off, clean metal surfaces.. maybe some light sanding, and crank the bolt back down.

just find a focus SPI, or find a focus with a pzev, or durtec thats been wrecked, and do a swap. more work yes, but the end result is a better motor. with more power

www.car-part.com is a great database for finding whole engines in your area. I've bought three or four that way.

    I kind of figured that.

$1600 isn't bad for a complete R&R labor and engine rebuild, in the grand scheme of things.

It'd be nice if they peen the valve seats into place so this doesn't happen again.

^ $1600 is a good price for not having to do the work - for a FULL rebuild & LABOR thats a GREAT price.
