I understand people want an update. I would just be aware that if something like this does come to market it is going to take a fair bit of time to R&D so that it's top notch.
I don't think 6+months would be out of the question. So, you might sit back and have a samich' ![]()

If the 2.3 Duratec swap goes well as planned.I for one, would love to see the
Direct Injected MazdaSpeed 2.3 turbo be swapped into a Foci. The CX-7 with 244hp or the 6 with 274hp would be a sweet swap. Can this be done as well? |

ya i saw that, im very happy he decided to continue producing those engines
![]() only thing that gets me is the "they are also a custom race level engine and as such will require maintenance and perhaps rebuilding much sooner than the 2.3L variants above." i hope thats only if u go crazy with 500+

Only problem with the mazdaspeed 6 engine is the tranny and drive train. You'd be better off going with the mazdaspeed 3 setup. Either way you are gonna be looking at a lot of money for the simple fact that you may need custom axels to make things line up right. The tranny is different then any used in focuses and I believe the wheel base is wider.

Your right fiends. The 6 is wider than the 3 and Zx3.The custom axles would be the killer issue. You'd have to chop the axles and then get the splines machined
onto them.Pricey.lol. |

Yeha definetly not gonna work without major mods. The MS3 wheel base is 103.9, 06 and up focuses are 102.9, and 04 and earlier come in at 103 on the dot.

I can't see you selling enough kits to be worth it. Sure, there would be a few, but really, the cost will kill it for most. Plus, there are enough options out there to take your existing zetec and build a much more powerful motor for the price of the swap.
That being said, I still think 5-speed swap kits for both the zetec and duratec would be more popular, and more useful.

You've got a point about the trans swaps probably being more popular.
It's as if the people who bought Auto's suddenly feel the need to go 5 spd, which I can't blame them for. To tell you the truth, I would feel that more would be interested in a AWD setup over a complete engine swap. The cost involved for an engine transplant for a meesly 20hp and tq., just doesn't sound worth it to me, but everyone has a different opinion on it. |

AWD Setup is TOTALLY WORTH IT...but so many have tried it on paper and noone has found a way to make this affordable for the average tuner.
