Default is my ride sacrificed?

If you add lowering springs is your soft comfy ride non=existent after that? If so is there any way to remedy that problem, such as different shocks or something like that. Also , could someone explain the theory behind a group buy and give me info on how to get in on one. Thank you for your time.

i have the progress 1.8 sport springs. the ride becomes a little *barely* more bumpy. Not like some of the hard rough Honda springs out there.

the theory behind the group buy is making like a deal with the dealer where you say how much lower can you make the price if 35 people *for example* will buy at the same time. the dealer might lower the price... because soo much people is buying at one time. Sorta like wheelin with a used car... where you tell him i will give you $1500 cash right now... instead of $1800 for the car.

you can get in on some of the group buys here with other focaljet members by looking in the Team Deals Forum.

I maybe be putting my foot in my mouth here but I believe any mod that enhances handling ability (lowering springs, sport shocks, wider rims/low profile tires) will sacrifice ride quality.

I've been told that if you want your ride to stay remain soft and plush, don't drop it or get rims. Not like I listened to that advice.

I have H&R springs with a 205/40/17 tire/rim package. Though the ride is fine over smooth pavement, there are 2 "problems":
 1.
It's pretty stiff over rough roads when going over 30mph
90% of NYC roads are littered with abominable potholes

peace

If you don't need to lower your car, you should get much better handling from the koni's with stock springs. The koni's are adjustable so you shouldn't have to give up much ride quality. There's a group buy going on now in team deals. I think all you need to do is post that you're in.

part of the idea in lowering springs is to firm the ride. this keeps the body roll down in the turns- not just add to the appearance. and in order to do this, so comfort must be given up

just my $.02

The H&Rs make the ride firmer, but not jarring, I personally like the suspension a little bit firmer, when I go over those 25 mle an hour speed humps the car juist goes up and then down, instead of up the down then bounce back up.....it is sweet. I love it.

The one thing that drove me crazy about the stock set-up was the bob and weave. I was tired of going over bumps and in an effort to reduce the impact, the engineers gave us a lot of body movement. I switched to Koni Yellows and the Eibach Pro-Kit and luv the handling. The ride takes some getting used to, but if you carry people, you'll appreciate the firmness. No more hop when hitting a bump in the middle of a turn. Not much body roll in corners.
