BTW: Cameroon, post some close up side shots since you seem to be the only one with these on a S2.

I'll try to find some time to take more pics for y'all in the next few days. It takes me noe time to get 'em on the net, just need to find to find a spare 15 minutes to take the pics.

I belive it was fordmazdaboy who put the struts and springs on his car. I'm going on a month now with no problems . I think my setup is actually more tailhappy than the svt due to the softer front end damping.

Is the backorder off yet?

What is the current price, are dealers selling the same as the internet places?

The Eibach anti-roll kit is the way to go for the sway-bars. It made the already great suspension even better. Less rear end tippiness in quick lane change type manuevers. Doesn't handle as great as cars that are stiffer and dropped further, BUT it does ride BETTER than those cars. A nice compormise between ride quality, over long trips especially, and handling... I'll post some pictures after our weekend G2G at Hooter's....

For anyone waiting on the rear SVT springs, I just got an email and mine are in. I'll go and pick them up over lunch. Now if my Konis get here by Friday I know what I'll be doing this weekend.

I've has the rear SVT springs and sway bar on my ZTS 5sp for 4 weeks now. I finally had time to put the front struts and springs on this weekend.

The handling has gotten better. A 40 mph turn doesn't produce too much lean like before. Switchbacks are more fun too.

The only thing I'm kinda disappointed in is that after installing the front springs, the steering effort has increased to about twice what it was. The alignment seems fine from what I can tell. The car doesn't pull to either side at any speed whether you're on the gas or not. Stays straight when braking. The only thing I can figure is that the 1" drop I got from the svt springs added enough negative camber to cause what I now feel in the steering. I run 34 psi in the tires normally. I'll have to bump that up some and see if that fixes it. If the tires wear out faster, that's fine since I'm looking for an excuse to lose the stock firesquawks anyway.

The Focus turns so tight and easily, I'll take that trade-off with a smile, ESPECIALLY if it gives me some negative camber.

how long would my struts last if i changed out my stock springs for the svt's, and I guess the rear shocks ill switch out for the S2's, then later switch over to the SVT struts......i just dont want to fork over 100 buks a piece right now for some crappy struts......and how about an estimate for installin springs and shocks in teh rear, about an hour or so?? I wanna know wahts fair when i go estimate shopping!!

I'm not sure about anything but your first Q.
I'm fairly certain that the mild drop of the SVT Springs would do very little to decrease the expected life of your stock dampers. The S2 or SVT Dampers are a good idea if you're not going to something like Koni's etc...Either way, while the car would definitely perform better w/ stiffer dampers, you probably wouldn't NEED to replace the dampers for everyday driveability for quite awhile.

I don't know if I can stare at those springs any longer while I wait for my dampers to get here. It really does suck waiting to install something. Bran new SVT springs sitting here just waiting to be installed. Wait..I think I hear them (whisper) "Install me...Install me". I had to install a set of plug wires last week just to quench my thirst.

lol...I think I would have to install anyways.. There is no way I could wait. I dont think I am going to upgrade dampers right now, I want to see how my S2 dampers work out with the springs.

know for the 1000 question will the SVT spring fit the wagon? I want to add a little better handling to the wagon and will look into the SVT parts.

Ordered front and rear springs and dampeners today for $100 from ford. Said it would be in next week. They want to charge me almost $200 for the install though. Am wondering how hard it would be to do myself? I'm not a mechanical idiot nor a pro. i can follow a good how-to with no problem. Another thing is will I need any special equipment for the install?

However, I wanted... a lower drop, and even though you haven't had them on for long, I *suspect* the S2 dampers will eventually blow out and you'll need new ones. I may be wrong, but maybe you can post a year from now and let us know

Honestly, I'll bet the drop is mild enough that the S2 dampers will be fine until we'd replace them ANYWAY. Dom, I'm sure your setup is cool and lower, MAYBE even better??, but for those on a busget, I'm GUESSING that it's a good alternative W/O the fear of blowing dampers excessively prematurely.

OK.... so I did it today.... and chalk it up to inexperience... but GOD it took forever.....

Do NOT attempt to do this yourself without an impact wrench.... to get the towers apart is damn near impossible... when I called my mechanic for advice he told me to come down and he'd take care of em for free.... so I brought em down to him.

But the ride is NIIIIIIIICE... when I wash the beast... I'll be sure to post picts!
