2M5Z.3020.AA FRONT STRUT BUMPERS (2)

Order Total: 47.46 (excluding Tax S&H)

isn't this VERY cheap? Do I need to order something else?

Now... the awfull waiting .. wish me luck on the install.. I'm pretty sure I'm the first one to do this here in Venezuela... I'm always putting my dealer to the test! hehe

You posted that you got 2 rear springs, and 4 Front bumpstops. That looks like that would total about 47 bucks....Are you not doing front springs? If not, you don't need ANY new bumpstops.

Justin,
I ordered all my parts together, si I don't know the exact price they charged me for the bumpstops. The "Posted" price was $4.50, but the springs were cheaper than the "Posted Price", so maybe the bumpstops are as well...??

Yes. Cameroon and a couple others have done this, and many others, including myself, are just waiting for the parts to come in. Read the whole thread. You'll see who's got S2's.

I've put about 2500 miles on SVT springs with otherwise stock S2 suspension and still belive it's the best $100 I've spent in a long time. I still haven't gotten around to an alignment but it feel dead on and I haven't noticed any undue wear on my tires either. I'm seriously thinking of pulling the front apart and putting the SVT bumpstops in.
I sometimes take brisk drives through the roads in the undeveloped part of the cemetary I work at when I get off work at midnight. These roads vary from nice new smooth asphalt to fairly smooth dirt with some bumpy stuff here and there. I've noticed when making hard rights in the rougher stuff I'll hit the bumpstops, still controlable I'd just like to have all the suspension travel I can get.

P-51 Yes I work the largest Cemetary in the USA. We have undeveloped land (for future expansion) that rivals a small city in size. It's all rollings hills with access roads and firebreaks all over it. Picture the Spanish Rally and you'll have a good idea of what its like. What I love about my susp. set up is that I still have decent travel as well as a firm controlable feel. If you had a two inch drop on these road you'ld be leaving pieces of car behind

Spring compressors..... @ Autozone.... the MacPhersons are $44ish.... after tax for the deposit if I recall correctly... but man do they suck ass.... I took em to the mechanic with his massive wall mounted unit (nice guy... for free!)

I've been thinking about buying.... $200 for a decent device. But the cheapie ones @ Autozone are just horrible.

I just ran the part numbers for the front and rear springs and bumpstops at fordpartsonline.com and the price came up to the same as a previous post. A grand total of $47.46. Please tell me there is some screw-up with these prices and part numbers. Is this what everybody has been getting them for and are they 100% sure they are getting true SVT parts.

[edit-add]
What I can't figure out is how the SVT parts are cheaper than stock components.

Stock ZX3 rear springs $17.52 each
SVT rear springs $11.53 each

Stock ZX3 bumpstop $3.93
SVT bumpstop $1.90

Has someone seriously screwed up on pricing???

You're missing front springs in your total.

If you order the springs from them, they send you an e-mail with the correct pricing (around $20-22 each for the springs, I can't remember how much it worked out to). Still, under $100 shipped is a darn good deal for a set of springs.

No those prices I just listed for comparison of ZX3 parts to SVT parts. Pulling up prices for the SVT part on fordpartsonline.com I get.....

2M5Z5B669AA Rear spring $10.58 each 21.16 pair
2M5Z5310AA Front spring $11.41 each 22.82 pair
2M5Z3020AA Bumpstops $1.74 each 3.48 pair

For a grand total of 47.46

In comparison to these stock ZX3 prices. For some reason front and rear spring prices were listed as the same so I only listed one.

ZX3 Rear spring $17.32 each 34.64 pair
ZX3 Bumpstop $3.32 each 6.64 pair

Something just does not sound right with the pricing. If everyone is getting what they are expecting that is great. I am just waiting to find out for sure before I order.

Dude, I answered your question, the pricing on the website is incorrect, they correct the price when they send you the confirmation e-mail.

I swapped in the SVT bumpstops this weekend. The only difference I could see is that the SVT one has about 3/16" - 1/4" removed from the top (flat) side. Other than that, the shape looked identical. Maybe there's a subtle change in the spring rate too, but nothing you could detect with your fingers. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a spring rate tester to actually see if it is any softer/stiffer than stock.

Would I do it again? No! If I hadn't also wanted to make some measurements for spacers to move the ride-height up to reduce bottoming and understeer, I would have felt quite silly for going through the work.

Duc - They're identical in shape to the standard bumpstops, just about 1/4" shorter. Even the inside has the same contour to it.
