The website lists it as a 28 mm front, 32 mm rear. Not yet available though, but it should be soon.

I would like to add my sway bars to this list. I make a 25mm rear sway bar with end links. For the front I recommend just replacing with urethane bushings and using adjustable end links. Please look at the link for prices and more details.

don't you think a 25mm is a bit execessive?? Thats a big jump i think...you think thats a good setup to ride on a daily driven car with some track time?

using a 25mm rear is normal, I think it is a very good setup myself. Just wait for some other stuff to come out.

shouldn't the listings be updated to reflect the changes for '05?

2005 and up Foci (hatches and sedans):

S - 18mm front/no rear
SE - 18mm front/no rear
SES- 21mm front/20mm rear
ST - 21mm front/21mm rear

I think........

If I'm understanding the use of the adjustments on the bar...

by moving the endlink to the softer or stiffer hole, your effectively changing the length of the lever.

thus the softer bar will act as if its a smaller diameter bar b/c its longer and allow more suspension articulation.

and using the stiffer hole, will act as if the bar is thicker in diameter and reduce the suspenion articulation.

---

I would check tho, to see what sort of angle the two holes place the endlinks at and make sure they arn't binding or at at a funny angle.

if they are, i'd suggest using the hole that causing the funnny angle only for track/autox days and riding on the other setting for daily driving.

how are these bigger bars effecting snow traction? I understand too big wouldnt be so hot? I wanna upgrade my SVT, but not to the point I loose a lot of snow performance...I live in CO.

technically, you'll get the best snow traction and driveability w/o having anything reducing suspension articulation.

I'd actually say, if your gona run those, in the winter time, just disconnect them. and you'll be fine.

Ever notice how WRC Snow Rallies, the car's have body roll where as the tarmac and gravel rallies, the car corner like almsot perfectly flat.

skinnier tires and no sways aide in snow traction.

^^ good point, but I am going to be a pain in the buht and not want to mess with it much between seasons. We have winter series autoX here and a lot of dry days in town. But go up into the hills on the weekend and you are going to encounter snow. So, if I can find a happy medium that would be ideal.

My thought were to upgrade the end links on the stock 21mm SVT front and then up the rear to a 24mm H&R or 22mm Progress.

Thanks Lorin.

TBH though sleestak, i definetally wouldn't want to be running a 24mm bar if I was going to encounter snow at any point.

it'll be one helluva ride, that for sure.

I'm very close to having the money to fully upgrade my suspension on my SVTF. I have the Eibach Sportline springs and I'm going to go with the Eibach Pro-dampers as well as a FS front strut bar. Now, the ultamite question: What size sway bars do I need? My car is a daily driver, however, I would like the best compromise between autox and daily driver. In other words, what sizes would allow me to not cringe every time I go over a bump, yet still compete in a amature autox event? So, with that in mind, what sway bar sizes would you guys recommend? My car sees all of it's driving in Florida, however, after my tour in Kuwait/Germany is over I'll be heading to Kentucky. For the most part, though, I won't be seeing any snow.

Just to reinforce what I already kind of know about sway bars, what does a larger sway bar do to your suspension when combined with lowering springs, strut bar, and upgraded shocks/struts?

Update- Found this awesome article on a search. A bit technical, but the guy breaks it down for us suspension dummies. lol. Very good pictures as well to help reinforce each paragraph. My conclusion after reading this: stay moderate on the bar size and get the same size for front and rear. Thus, I'm going to go with the H&R front/rear 24mm sway bar from FS. Here's the link to the article: http://www.stealthtdi.com/SwayBars.html

I have read that article and it is a good one. My question to you is do you like the way your car handles now?? The SVTF has 21/21 bars, so increasing to a 24/24 setup will not really change the balance of the car, but it will keep the body roll in check. If that is what you are after, that is great. A lot of people upgrade to a 21/22 setup because that is a bit more neutral to oversteer setup. A few people even have a 22/25 (eibach) or even 21/25 setup for an oversteer setup so the rear steps out on demand (and sometimes without being asked as well...drive with caution).

What that article doesn't really take into account is different suspension setups. Different spring rates have similar effects by changing the balance and attitude of the car. Find the springs that suit you, and the swaybars should be icing on the cake...not the cake itself.
