Default Rear lower strut bar?

Okay, I was perusing eBay earlier (bad, I know), looking for a number of things, when something jumped out and grabbed my eye. It was described as a "rear lower strut bar". Has anyone heard of this before? I had a friend who owned one of the newer MR2 Spyders and his car was equipped with aftermarket strut bars, but I have never heard of these for a Focus. The item number, if anyone is curious, is 230174743968. It was selling for something like $20, with $10 for shipping. These prices seem pretty reasonable, but since I have never seen anything like this from a Focus-specific dealer, like FocusSport, I am a little apprehensive. Thanks for any input.

Well, I understand that part about the rear struts. I am just curious about the part, maybe they simply used the wrong terminology to describe it. Kinda like the rear upper stress bar that some people install, maybe there is a part out there that can have a similar effect.

On a Focus, a part like that is mainly cosmetic. Reason being that there's very little chassis load at the rear shock towers; there's no coil spring in that location.

The weight of the car at the rear axle is supported by the rear subframe that's underneath the car.

The rear suspension of the Focus is so intricate that I wouldn't go adding things to it that didn't come on a performance model anyways. If you were to add a lower shock tie bar there's a good chance you'd screw up the passive rear steering and snap something....

All righty then. Thanks for the input, fellas. I guess that's money well saved, eh? To be perfectly honest, I wasn't too optimistic about what I saw on eBay, but I thought, for the price, I might as well ask someone who knows a bit more about suspension than I do.

As you can see form the photo the rear suspension on the Focus it prity stout. No real need for a brace or place for a lower brace.
