I was wondering if any shocks and struts would fit on the 07 focus. I know that they changed the suspension but did they change the fitment of the shocks and struts at all? Also if anyone knows of quality adjustable shocks that could be used with stock ride height and also with 1.5" lowering springs?

Read these links (as they also apply to the 07 Focus) from the very first post in this thread:

'06 ST - H&R springs do not fit !!!

KYB's dont fit on 06 Focus

What are us 2006-ers to do?

06 Suspension

Default Re: 2006(& 2007) Focus Suspension Changes!! Discuss here!

i have a question. focaljet-1 just posted this in the frpp section:

Part No. M-5560-ZX3B

2006+ Focus lowering springs for ZX3/4/5, approximately 1.2" front and 1.6" rear.

Retail price: $215

-------------------------------------------

Part No. M-18000-ZX3V

2006+ Focus uprated dampers for ZX3/4/5. Same valving as 2006 ST.

Retail price: $195

-------------------------------------------

Part No. M-3000-ZX3A

SVT Focus suspension kit with pre-assembled front strut assemblies including new top mounts, bearings, spring perches, boots, bumpstops and fasteners.

Retail price: $350

what i want to know is if that last one, the svt focus suspension kit is the same one as the m-3000-zx3 which fits 2000-2005 foci or if it's a new one for the 06+. FRPP hasn't updated their site so there is no further information there. I'm under the assumption that it's a combination of the first two items but i could be wrong. thanks.

Is there a phone number listed on the FRPP site? (My satellite terminal at work won't let me go there)

My bet is that kit is for 06+ Foci since there 00-04 SVT suspension kit has been available for some time now.

Regardless, this is all good news. In no time us 06+ Focus owners will have lots of aftermarket suspension options.

I'm going to call them tomorrow if I can find a number and I'll report back my findings. I'm hoping that it's for the 06+ as well seing as how I'd like to go with an SVT theme, or at least quite a few SVT mods. For all the 06+ owners, cross your fingers...

Ok so I called FRPP on my lunch break and got the lowdown, at least what they could tell me after checking on it and keeping me on hold for 15 minutes.

Part No. M-5560-ZX3B

2006+ Focus lowering springs for ZX3/4/5, approximately 1.2" front and 1.6" rear.

Retail price: $215

These do exist and are in stock from what I've been told.
-------------------------------------------

Part No. M-18000-ZX3V

2006+ Focus uprated dampers for ZX3/4/5. Same valving as 2006 ST.

Retail price: $195

There was no records of these existing in they're databases.
-------------------------------------------

Part No. M-3000-ZX3A

SVT Focus suspension kit with pre-assembled front strut assemblies including new top mounts, bearings, spring perches, boots, bumpstops and fasteners.

Retail price: $350

And this, from what I've been told, is in their system but not online and is "most likely and upgraded kit of the old SVT suspension and NOT for 06+." This one took him some time to look up and all the information he could get was quoted. I'm hoping that his best guess was wrong since he had no documentation to go by but at this point it doesn't look like it's for us.

My guess on this part; its just the dampers from the 06+ ST, so maybe the part number corresponds to the part in Ford's Parts database vs FRPP database.

If they are just ST dampers it'd be cheaper to just buy the ST and not the FRPP ones.

From www.fordparts.com they are $62.44 each

I'm sure dealer cost is much less.

I'd bet upto and including $5 thats exactly what they did. Note the bolded text. It's an SVT kit that is ready to drop in. No reusing old parts or need for spring compresors

If it IS the SVT kit then would it lower the car like the SVT springs do (1/2 inch)?

If the front steering knuckle's strut bore size is larger on the '06 and '07, can't we jsut use a spacer around the bottom? Some of the peole that put Protoge adjsutable struts on the ZX2 ran into the same problem and some suspension shops sold them a spacer that goes in the hole in the knuckle to make up for the 1mm in bore difference.

Is the rear suspension on the newer Focii still the same?

Yes, the rear suspension is the same (as the '05 - of course there's still the retarded rear swaybar delete on the S and SE models...)

After reading all of this, if I do the SVT Focus brake swap on a 2007 Focus then it sounds like I should be able to use the earlier Focus style springs and shocks. I'm assuming this because I'd need to swap the front spindles from what I understand.

Now is this an entire suspension kit or just the springs? Because that price looks awfully like the 06+ Springs that are out from FRPP.
