Default My MASSIVE OVERHAUL is finally done...

I'll have some pix later next wk, but after over 3wks of being down, i hope it'll go another 100k and change.

to date the overhaul included (i shutter to list prices after each item, but i just might).

Front:

SVTF Front Springs
SVTF Front Struts
Camber Plate Bolts (originals are pot metal, new 10.9s tacked in)
TPS
Valve Cover Gasket
Front Endlinks
Front Outer Tie Rod Ends
1 Outer CV Boot
Front Control Arms and Bushings
Ball Joints
Ball Joint Spindle Hardware
Left Front Caliper
Pads
Rotors
Wheel Bearings
Hatch Release Switch
Full Replacement Hardware for all Susp Pickup Pts.

Rear was definitely interesting, folks be prepared to do susp overhauls mild or wild out back on ur own, u will get hammered on labor if u dont. here it goes.

Rear:

SVTF Rear Springs
SVTF Rear Shocks
SVTF Rear Swaybar
Drums
Shoes
2 Wheel Cylinders (1 leaking far worse than other, horrid site inside)
Wheel Bearings
Inner Eccentric Toe Control Arm Bolts
Full Prothane Bushing kit for rear of car and swaybar
Full Replacement Hardware for all Susp Pickup Pts

5 of the 12 bolts on the rear suspension pickups had to be destroyed b/c of seizing inside stock bushings, others were too gauled to be used again. 1 instance the nut (tacked onto arm) had no threads in it from factory !!!! my luck was that it did seize in the bushing thus went nowhere. another instance the bolt as it was loosening pushed the backing nut off its welds!!!!!!

of course ford wont sell u new bushings, but only arms. thus the prothane had to come into play, not to mention the 45bux in shipping to get it 2nd day ( )

big thanks go out to steve @ tousley (who also helped me w/shocks, struts, and an AC compressor for mom's taurus --- FU ford and ur 150k spring recall on taurus -- had 150,600mi on it and ford wouldnt touch it --- too bad i dont live in Kansas, steve woulda helped) and tony D @ newedge for the prothane help.

all on 4 new Yoko Avids all balanced and aligned up.

more later

R

So if Ford's owner satisfaction program (it's NOT a recall) 04M04 has a mileage limitation of 150,000 miles, is it realistic to expect them to cover your mother's because she was only 600 miles over the limit? If they did, should they also do the same for someone who is "only 800 miles over" or "only 1,000 miles over" or "only 2,000 miles over??? They do have to draw the line somewhere.

Please don't get me wrong since I can appreciate your frustration, but the only realistic answer to your dilemma would be for Ford (and every manufacturer) to provide unlimited mileage as well as unlimited time coverage when they attempt to satisfy their customers by issuing a special program like this. ("but I'm only a month beyond the program). I suspect (or at least hope) you'll agree that's not realistic since that would in effect turn into a lifetime warranty.

Other than that - congratulations on completing your massive project!!!!
