Default HR Sport Cup Kit durability?

so its getting to be time for me to do some thigns to make my fofo alittle bit funner.
first, i want some suspension, and right now the HR Sport cup Kit is top of my list, the only question i have, is how durable are HR suspension kits? the roads around where i live are...deplorable to say the least (lets just say that daily, 10 or 15 ppl will have blowouts caused by potholes, both in the city AND on the freaking freeway(ever have a tire blow out/rim get smashed @ 120km/hr? don't )

so yea, can they take a beating? its not like offroading or anything, usually atleast 2 or 3 hard bumps per trip

I'd be more worried about the stiffness and how low the kit is. If the roads are as bad as you say they are...I would avoid the Cup Kit. Too low and stiff for harsh roads every day.

isnt the sport cup kit not quite as low as the cup kit?
im thinking 1.5-1.75" drop would suffice (and i still wouldnt bottom out)

also, would those strut tower braces be of any benefit? or are they for show?

That's the H&R touring cup kit...with the 1.5 drop.

This is what FS says:

Quote:
H&R offers two types of cup kits, the Sport Cup Kit and the New Touring Cup Kit. The Sport Cup Kit features lowering of 2.5 to 2.75 inches*, and are the ideal solution for those that want a street-engineered performance suspension with super-low looks. The Touring Cup Kit line for enthusiasts that want less lowering while retaining the same high level of performance offered by the Sport Cup Kit. On average the Touring Cup Kits lower the vehicle ride height about 1.4 inches.

(* Approximate lowering amount, except SVT)

The Touring Kit would probably be ok, but I have no idea how stiff the springs are.

For the same price, you can get the Koni Sport Kit from New Edge which includes adjustable Koni dampers and Koni springs. I've driven my car over some serious rough roads (dirt with potholes...etc) without a problem. On full soft it's a nice ride. I usually run 1/2 front and 3/4 for daily driving and it's very firm and responsive without being annoying. The drop is about 1.3" as well. I would like a bit more in the rear, but I can't complain about the handling even with stock bushings and sways. This would give you adjustability whereas the H&R has none.

hey, thanks for all the info dude! i'll start looking at the Koni kit's to...i dont know much about suspension, but i figured if FS was selling the H&R it had to be good (im not saying its not, but if something else is of the same quality and better suited to my needs, i'd be a fool not to look into it)
