Default Steeda springs with stock struts?

Quick question.. anyone know if you can make the steeda springs work with just stock struts?

Yes, it will "work", but most people will tell you that you'll destroy your stock dampers fairly quickly by running them with lowering springs.

Eibach Pro-Kit springs and dampers will lower your car about 1.5".

SVT suspension drops you about 0.75"...the kit from Ford Racing is relatively cheap, and you won't lose driveability or much ride comfort.

Actually the Eibach springs are closer to an inch. That would be my choice or maybe the Vogtland springs because the work good and they are cheap

Those numbers sound closer to sportlines numbers

It will work with the stock dampers. It will just make them wear out sooner.

It will "work" w/ the stock dampers but the ride will not be good. I ran mine like that for a while and when I got on the dippy, bumpy, pitchy back roads we have around here it was very clear that the stock struts were grossly under dampened for the springs I had. It would bottom out easy and would fly upwards like it wanted to leave the ground every time I'd hit a big dip in the road (far too little rebound dampening). To replace the aging stockers I bought a set of the SVT struts and the ride is beautiful. Nice and tightly controlled, seldom ever bottoms (w/ 1.5" drop springs) and is still very comfortable. Best of all, the SVT struts are no more than the junk Monroe stock replacement type struts you'd get at a parts store.

I am "King cheapskate" but if I had it to do again I would save up the little extra cash and buy the SVT struts right off of the bat. Well worth the money and the time savings of having to pull the whole thing apart twice.

That's what I'm doing. I originally bought a set of used Eibachs, but then I decided to just go for a full new SVT setup.

Throw on a set of Koni yellows and you'll see that your stock struts are not really still going strong
