Default Suspension help!

I have a 2000 zx3 that ive been working on,
But i dont have enough money for coilovers cause im still in highschool
So i got tein stech springs and i had them cut about a month ago,
Theyve settled but its still not a big enough drop and i dont like 17" rims. 16" is the biggest ill go.

I wanna get a bigger drop but the shop that cut my springs told me that even if they cut my springs more that it wouldnt lower my car.
I guess they took the shocks out to see how low it would go and it just stood there not hitting the floor. He thinks that theres something stopping my car from getting any lower ?

If anyone has info on this please letme know and what it is thats restricting my car from becoming any lower and what i can do to make it lower or change the restriction.

Thanks

Probably the rear bumpstops?

Have you changed the shocks and struts yet?

If you want go that low, get bags. The ride that low on springs is going to be horrific, even with a serious set of dampers.

Just be careful if you mod those bump stops. Those are the only thing stopping your shocks in the rear from bottoming out. Hit a bump a few times that low and you'll likely ruin the shocks. Being on cut Teins right now they aren't really working anymore, but with no bump stops you may cause some serious damage to the shock or the body mounts.

Thanks for the info,
Idk what im going to do, i just want to be tucking on some 16's for the rest of the time i have the car.

Do you think custom shocks would help lower it ?
& how would i make the bumpstops lower ?
Any advice ?
& where are they at like locations wise ?

Thanks

I think the best thing to do is save up and get some coilovers. That way you can get the car at the right height that you want. If you want the for sale section and some other sites you can get a good deal on a set. Might consider the H&R Cup Kit it is a complete kit and does a good job of lowering the car. I think there is a set for sale in the for sale section.

The bumpstops are on shock itself, you could probably just cut it and make it shorter, but you will blow out your shocks, I 100% guarantee it. And if you want tucked look, you also have to realize that on the focus the wheel is pretty much flush with fender so you will have to run extreme camber and/or roll fenders.

I would quit while the car is still drivable, If you start hacking away at things your gonna have a hard time selling your car unless you put some money into it, which it seems like you don't want to do.
